Organizational Influences
There are a number of environmental influences that impact organizations. While in some cases there are a number of external influences that an organization must contend with that the company has no ability to control. Internal influences can be modified in most cases even without the ability to control the external environment the organization must find ways to contend with changes in the environment in order to ensure the organizations success.
One such influence is the economy. If the economy is in a recession companies must find ways to cut spending and trim budges in order to maintain their levels of profitability. In good times organization can grow expand and in difficult times the company must also adjust.

The first step is Training Need Analysis (TNA) which is the process of identifying the gap between employee training and needs of training. Training needs analysis is the first stage in the training process and involves a procedure to determine whether training will indeed address the problem which has been identified. Training can be described as “the acquisition of skills, concepts or attitudes that result in improved performance within the job environment, Understanding the needs of the training program is the key step to creating the program” (DESSLER, 2013). Once training needs are assessed there exists the need for a curriculum. The curriculum should focus around the areas that are required expertise for customer service representatives would including things like product knowledge and phone etiquette. Second, the organization must find a training coordinator responsible for training or they must find someone who can train other trainers. In addition, the training coordinator should schedule meeting space as well as the appropriate times for training classes including things like books, computers or any training materials that may be needed. The Third step, would involve matching those employees who need training to the correct class. First and most recognizably is the need for a different salary depending on the location of a position. “An administrative assistant in Mississippi will likely require a significantly lower salary than someone working in New York the location and the cost of living will dictate a certain percentage difference in how someone is payed. In addition to the location is the experience level of the employee that is needed Someone who has at 15 years of experience is certainly going to demand a higher premium than someone who is just out of University. The external and internal influence will affect all businesses. The impact however can be positive or negative depending on the business control over their internal influence. Some people are motivated by money, while others are motivated by respect or the different options of benefits. It all just depends on what aspects make you happy with your career.
There is no room for inconsistency (Thompson, S., n.d). There need to be measurable goals for each person to hold them accountable for their achievements and also to assess where they need to improve.
