Communication is imparting or exchanging of information or news. True communication requires back and forth speaking and listening, interaction and then providing a response informed by what has been heard. This could be face to face, over the telephone or cell phone, through texting, internet/e-mail/instant messaging, skype, and so much more. On March 10, 1876, Alexander Graham Bell spoke on the telephone that he invented. For centuries they have been around. While talking though we use verbal communication and sometime if our communication skills aren’t effective, we get confused. In this essay, I will give information to tech users on how to most effectively communicate using the telephone or cell phone.

This plays a great role in effective telephone communication skills. As a proper etiquette it is always expected for you to be polite, but choosing your words helps make your point clear. “Writing out a script of the main points you want to cover, in addition to the names of the people you need to speak to, might help you keep yourself on track, according to the State of Idaho Department of Labor.” So that you keep the listener interested use neutral language to soften negative responses. Also, use “I suggest” or “I recommend,” instead of “you should” or “you need to.” It is often that the conversation would be cut short if they don’t hear what they expect or want to hear.
The third step is finding a quiet place to take the phone call. When both parties can clearly hear each other without background noise, the communication over the phone is much more effective. If a person has a noisy background it can be hard to understand or communicate efficiently. With this kind of conversation, you would spend most of the time asking them to repeat what they said. Whether you are conversing for business or with a friend, finding a quiet place to talk allows both parties to understand and move the conversation further. If you are taking a call find a quiet spot around the house or elsewhere. If alone you could pause the tv or music.
