The term visual culture was devised by the bonding of two words, visual and culture. If we break this term down, visual means relating to seeing, or the eyes; done or executed by sight only, according to the Merriam Webster Dictionary. And culture refers to a set of ideologies and customs followed by a specific group of people. Thus, according to this, visual culture refers to the visual representation of the world. It refers to everything you see and later on analyse to understand, concerning to a group of people, a society, a city, a country, the world as a whole. We can talk about visual culture in terms of television commercials as well. If we take the example of Coca Cola, it’s a multinational brand, that is there in almost every country. However the advertisements made in each country for the same drink are quite different, visualizing the culture of that country only. The Coca Cola advertisements made in Pakistan focus on Pakistani food and a Pakistani wardrobe and a Pakistani environment.

From safe streets in the 70s and 80s where people could walk or travel without any fear of getting robbed or kidnapped, people who can afford it now travel in bullet proof cars with armed guards protecting them.
