The term visual culture was devised by the bonding of two words, visual and culture. If we break this term down, visual means relating to seeing, or the eyes; done or executed by sight only, according to the Merriam Webster Dictionary. And culture refers to a set of ideologies and customs followed by a specific group of people. Thus, according to this, visual culture refers to the visual representation of the world. It refers to everything you see and later on analyse to understand, concerning to a group of people, a society, a city, a country, the world as a whole. We can talk about visual culture in terms of television commercials as well. If we take the example of Coca Cola, it’s a multinational brand, that is there in almost every country. However the advertisements made in each country for the same drink are quite different, visualizing the culture of that country only. The Coca Cola advertisements made in Pakistan focus on Pakistani food and a Pakistani wardrobe and a Pakistani environment.
“Visual culture is the analysis of the process of looking. It is the way that looking practices are engaged in the symbolic and communicative activities. Visual culture is the impact of culturally

From safe streets in the 70s and 80s where people could walk or travel without any fear of getting robbed or kidnapped, people who can afford it now travel in bullet proof cars with armed guards protecting them. Barbed wires have become a common sight around the city. People prefer not to take their cell phones out in the public dreading that that might be the last time they see their precious gadgets. Even schools and colleges are not safe anymore, considering the recent attacks on the Army Public School in Peshawer, and then the Bucha Khan University in Charsaddah. All schools, colleges and universities have been working especially hard to strengthen security measures that would help prevent further attacks such as

The carnage at Columbine alarmed hundreds of schools across the nation and influenced schools safety practices greatly. In this present era, school shootings appear to be becoming normality in America. After the shooting, schools both locally and internationally have significantly increased their security procedures. There are many different upgrades that schools have implemented to help prevent further tragedies; metal detectors are used to detect weaponry on-hand as well as security cameras on site all around the building – inside and out. These methods also include dress codes, security/police officials and ID room cards, the latter being implemented on my campus.
Many shootings happen in schools everywhere like the shooting at Sandy Hook, a senseless tragedy for the students and teachers. The shooting happened December 14, 2012 in Newtown, Connecticut. The shooter was a 20-year-old man named Adam Lanza. He killed 20 children and 6 staff members. Another example is the Columbine High School Massacre, a school shooting that occurred on April 20, 1999, at the Columbine High School in Columbine.
Safety is something we all strive for in our lives and we need it as much as we need air. Sadly, recent events in the world have put this safety at risk, something that must be changed. Being a university student, safety at the campus I commune to daily is of the upmost importance. The violence on school campuses has gotten worse as the time goes on, a total of 19 shootings has happened in 2015 alone. This may not seem like a lot, but the 40 deaths in these shootings respectively say different.
Now, wherever I go, I have to be careful and always have a trusted adult with me. You can never know when someone is going to do something crazy or where it’ll be. Once in awhile, my school has surprise lockdown drills. These practices prepare me in case someone comes onto my school campus and has a gun. Also, to prevent this even more, my school has a gate around it and if you want to come on the campus, you must be buzzed in by a school administrator.
Unit 30 – Advertisement Production for Television I will research the various structures and techniques used in TV advertisement production. The aim is to try and understand the impacts of each structure and technique on the audience. I will also be aiming to understand how the structures and techniques used in the advert represent the brand and company. Many brands use celebrities as the “face of the brand.”
But when a school is not safe, that can interfere with the student 's academics. There have been many instances of danger in schools in the past, that has led to tragedies. An answer to this dilemma is the use of metal detectors. They are effective and increase safety that can assist in ending violence in school environments. To prevent violence from happening again in schools, metal detectors should be installed in every public
Many people from both the Republican and Democratic parties favor the idea of placing a ban on assault weapons and creating a new federal database to monitor gun sales as well as having background checks for private and gun show sales (Struyk, 1). Other possible safety measures include every school having a professional crisis team that can review their existing policies, staff members who question every visitor who comes into the school, constant locked doors, and more frequent safety drills (Gumbrecht, 1). Since the Columbine shooting of 1999, even architectural designs have been implemented to ensure school safety. Schools that have been built since then try to have single, prominent entryways, reduced landscaping which means fewer places for the shooter to hide, restrooms away from entrances, and mechanical and electrical systems away from easy access points (Gumbrecht, 2). Construction companies have been trying to create something to make it so that the accident is contained, whether it be a shooting or an explosion (Gumbrecht, 2).
The variety and assortment of products in today’s world is growing heavily making consumer decisions harder and harder. Thus, the need of in-store visual merchandising be-comes relevant as never before. The more choices consumers are faced with, the more time they tend to spend while making purchasing decision, and visual merchandising may help to facilitate those choices. This reflection paper is aimed at drawing understanding on how visual merchandising influence consumer behaviour and how it stimulates the purchase de-cision.

Sometimes if they are interested in certain foreign lands or products they may begin seeing advertisements from those lands. Primarily, advertisements manipulate the viewers by making them remember the advertisements. However, a lot of the time the advertisements also sell different ideals on life to make them buy, showing you ideals like what you should find funny, normal, or interesting. In this commercial series I will be analyzing
There should be more security guards or policemen at schools because of the fact that someone can carry out a deadly assault. Maybe not using so much technology, but using more security guards that can patrol in and outside the school. With the use of security guards the chances of a shooting happening is slim, not only that, but with armed policemen it also helps stop people from thinking about doing something bad. Using technology doesn’t stop an active shooter because it can’t do anything but catch or alert that there is a shooter, even with students’ help they can throw things and give enough time to catch the shooter. But with security guards and police they are the ones that can stop a shooter.
Introduction Visual and performing arts tend to act as separate entities within the field of education; considerably isolated from the majority of academia, these sectors are often considered to be secondary or elective options after completing primary education. The arts are an essential part of a well-rounded education, however, when an institute begins a budgeting process, the arts are rarely considered a top priority. For example, during periods of recession many public schools within the United Stated were forced to cut visual, performing and musical arts programs, despite studies that proved the exposure to the arts to be beneficial for students both academically and in extracurricular activities. Learning in an art-infused environment

Culture is a very vast and complicated term. As a result, it is extremely difficult to provide an all encompassing definition. In layman terms, culture is used to refer to symbolic markers used by societies to differentiate and distinguish themselves from other societies. These symbolic markers range from religion to customs and traditions to something as basic as language and clothes. Basically culture is a way of living.
