By upholding the principles of due process and equal protection, the 14th Amendment helps to build a more just and equitable society for all
The First Amendment is the most important, because of freedom of religion and freedom of speech. Many people think that the fourth amendment is the most important. They think this, because it is important for a person to be able to tell policemen “No” if they ask you if they could search your car or your house. I believe that the fourth amendment is really important, but you wouldn’t be able to tell the policemen “No” if you didn’t have freedom of speech. George Washington said,”If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be, like sheep to the slaughter” (“Famous Quotes Freedom of Speech”).Without freedom of speech and religion we are nothing.
•Explain what the amendment says (in plain English) – Search and seizure: the fourth amendment. This amendment prohibits officers and active members of the law to unlawfully search or enter a home or school without a search warrant; and even with a warrant you can only search where evidence might be found. If you are looking for a stolen car, you cannot check the kitchen cabinets the car won’t be there. If an area is improperly searched and something is found that cannot incriminate anyone, and is not allowed to be displayed in the court of law. •Explore what issues made it important for lawmakers in the Early Republic--important enough to add this amendment to the Constitution.
The Fourteenth amendment is a significant addition to the constitution and although the amendment has five sections, section 1 has had the moral lasting significance through its creation of three important provisions concerning citizenship, due process and equal protection. The Fourteenth Amendment granted citizenship to all people born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof. The fourteenth Amendment also forbid the states to deny their citizens due process of law or equal protection of the law, that is, it made certain provision of the Bill of Rights applicable to the states. Lastly, the Fourteenth Amendment prohibits the government at any level from unfairly or arbitrarily denying a citizen their fundamental
If you are charged with a crime you have a right to a lawyer. If you cannot afford a lawyer then the government will pay for one for you. This is important for the innocence of people and for the help to find the person who really did it. You need a lawyer in court and this amendment provides one. Let’s see what someone else might think of this amendment.
The 4th Amendment may be aggravating for the police, but on the other hand is beneficial for United States citizens. The 4th Amendment preserves protection, produces citizens to feel secure, and prohibits insignificant searches. Without the involvement of the 4th Amendment in the United States, government or authorities could invade privacy and go through citizen’s belongings without any type of
On the other hand, this amendment makes it strenuous to conduct surveillance without a probable cause. The Fourth Amendment was a suitable change to the Constitution because it ensures citizens’ privacy cannot be invaded, ensures citizens’ property is secure from seizure, and stipulates searches must be approved by a judge although it makes finding evidence
Before the 20th century, there were few, if any, cases based on the Fourth Amendment. However, as surveillance by law enforcers became more common, these tactics, and others, were scrutinized in court cases throughout the 20th and 21st century. Within the past 50 years there have been more and more cases held to determine whether or not a citizen’s right were being violated or if authorities were within the law. Like a story with multiple timelines, the outcome of a case disputing the fourth amendment is not always clear or predictable. PII Like many of the other amendments, already established traditions of British law supported the concept of the IV Amendment.
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures shall not be violated… We all know the fourth amendment. The potions of the Bill of Rights that have a particular significance to the administrations of justice are the Fourth Amendment, Sixth Amendment and the Eighth Amendment. The Fourth Amendment follows a excellent standard when it comes to our privacy. Our privacy should always be supreme until reasonable suspicion has shown guilt. Without this Amendment, a cop could search you anywhere at anytime based on his biased opinion of you.
Just two years ago a family was arrest for the refusal of letting police officers use their house a sight to look out for domestic abuse, but when they went they didn't have a warrant nor did they ever get one which violated the family's right. The fourth amendment goes along with the third saying that no own can own your house and enter it without a warrant which has been broken just as much as the third amendment has. As well as the 4 amendment i have said above almost all of our amendments have been broken on average 6 times, the amendments shouldn't have been broken at all. Some may argue that the amendments were broken to help us through, one of the amendment that doesn't benefit anyone is the missouri execution act that allowed you to murder a mormon or member of the church of latter day saints without being tried, this act wasn't taken away till 1976, 137 years after the paper was signed that allowed you to kill
The Fourth Amendment is having the right to privacy; the police can’t go into your home without permission from the homeowners or the judge. Both of these amendments are indeed valuable to Americans because they allow us to express ourselves and be who we want to be with privacy. I believe the First Amendment is vital because it allows people to stand up for what they believe in and choose their path in life. It lets us convey with other people to express our commonalities with the world.
It has been used to protect virtually all of the rights granted in the Bill of Rights.
