For my leadership class project, I chose to do Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn Monroe is one of the most famous female actress’s in the history of The United States of America.
Marilyn Monroe was born June 1st 1926 in Los Angeles, California.
She is one of America’s most known actresses, singers, and models.
Marilyn mother was frequently held in a asylum most of Marilyn’s childhood. Marilyn’s father was never in the picture, so in Marilyn’s childhood she was kept in a orphanage, she had twelve adoptive families in her life.
She went to school at Selma Avenue elementary school, Emerson Junior High,Van Nuys High,and the University Of California, Los Angeles,she got her degree in Method Acting.

She later said that she had been raped when she was 11 years old. She married her boyfriend Jimmy Dougherty on June 19, 1942, at the age of 16. The couple divorced in 1946 because of long distance. What did she accomplish Marilyn accomplished many things she was an actress, model, and singer.
As the plot continues, we start to learn the small details of Marilyn’s life. She says, “I haven’t seen [Gerry] for so long, and I didn’t want to wait another year when I could see him now…” (3). All she wanted to do was see her brother, she didn’t do anything wrong. She is just a young, naive girl who didn’t know what she was doing. “If you make me leave the ship, I’ll die” (5).
Lucille wanted to be an actress and she accomplished that goal. She was in a lot of famous movies and in a show called “I Love Lucy.” This proved that, if you want something bad enough, and you never give up, you can fulfill your dreams. Lucille Ball was a fabulous person, but she had a frustrating life as a kid.
Many theories come up around the death of Marilyn Monroe but many think she was murdered. To give background on the situation, Marilyn Monroe was a famous actor in the 1950s-1960s that died at the age of thirty-four years old from a drug overdose with 40 pills which left the cause of death as “ acute barbiturate poisoning ” . But many think that she was murdered because of various reasons such as jealousy, greed, and or for revenge. This is the conspiracy theory on the death of Marilyn Monroe. This conspiracy theory started after her death which has been fueled by the bizarre speculations that have happened after her death.

Her career also shows that no matter how famous you are, you are still human and it's alright to have emotions. In the beginning of her film contract Marilyn only had minor appearances but her roles in a few famous movies helped her progress into getting leading roles. (Chad 3). This shows that Marilyn Monroe’s career didn't start off well and that it’s alright to not be the best when you're trying something new. It also shows that you aren’t going to get the best opportunity right away and that you have to work for things.
She first started working in a factory job for a few years while her husband, Dougherty, was overseas serving in the military. While she was there, many photographers came in and took pictures of people at labor. The photographer absolutely loved Monroe’s image and thought she could be big someday. So, June 1945, she left her factory job for a modeling opportunity. Not many people know this but her natural hair color was a reddish brown.

Even though her life as an actress was over by the time she was a teenager, her early acting career led to bigger things as she grew into politics. Shirley Temple was born in Santa Monica, California on April 23, 1928 and she passed away on February 10, 2014 in Woodside, California. There is evidence to claim that Marilyn herself documented state-classified secrets while partaking in the relationship, one being the planned assasination of Fidel Castro (Marilyn Murdered). With learning about these government agendas, she recorded them in an alleged diary lost to the media long ago. With this classified information acquired, JFK and RFK were worried about Marilyn’s indiscretion, and what she’d do with the newly received information (Staff, Us Weekly). The Kennedy’s didn’t want this affair to become a public spectacle, yet Marilyn wanted it to become common knowledge. When RFK threatened to end the affair, Marilyn threatened to release the classified information uncovered during the affair, and make it public.
She is a role model, not for her career, but for what she did with her career. No matter how famous Audrey Hepburn became, she always stayed true to who she was and never let the fame get to her head. She had hoped to become the first lady and replace Jackie as his wife (Jackie). Her friend, Jeanne Carmen explained that Marilyn was set on the idea that JFK would leave his wife for her, but she also mentioned that these ideas might have been brought on because of her emotional problems and her alcohol and drug intake (Jackie). Peter Lawford mentioned later on that when Marilyn had made the phone call to Jackie, she had this idea that JFK would leave his entire family for her, as well (Jackie). Furious rumors of the affair began to circulate throughout the press. In her friends' words, they said that Marilyn felt as if her and Kennedy were drifting away and she felt it was her fault (Jackie).
When she was in Vogue magazines it helped open the eyes of Americans on what the body standards are, and that if a girl is pretty, they must be skinny. When Marylin showed in the famous magazines that she was not all skinny and perfect it helped the issue of body dysmorphia or when girls are just skinny to feel good about themself or even feel pretty. Marilyn Monroe even made the fashion industry make clothes more comfortable and positive for every body type. She not only helped make body positivity in America in the 1950’s she was also one of the first women to start her business and make her script and director's approval Before Marylin got the film and director's approval, she got rejected a lot for her work and her company. But on January 7, 1955, she announced to America that she will be having her own production company.
Marilyn Monroe uses her disguise for privacy and to avoid any undesirable attention. However, the two girl-poets use the same type of disguise to avoid showing their true lesbian feelings for one another in a society that is unable to except it.
