In the story, "The Lady or the Tiger?," I believe that the princess chose the door with the tiger behind it due to her jealousy of the beautiful princess. She is selfish, and doesn't want anyone else having her man. Also, her father does not approve of her relationship with her lover anyway, for he is not a prince.
The princess is self-centered, like her father. They are both very passionate and caring, but tend to put themselves first over everything. When her father found out about her lover and his trial was set, she somehow found a way to know behind which door the princes and the tiger would come out. It was only when she found out that the princess behind one of the doors was one of the most beautiful in the land, that her hatred began to set in.

When he had entered the arena, there were behind gasps and sighs, for he was so handsome, and I don't think anyone wanted to see him be mauled by the tiger. He took a glance up at the princess, and knew that she knew behind which door stood the lady or the tiger. The time came to choose, and, his eyes fixed on the princess, he mouthed, "Which?" The princess had no time to hesitate. She quickly raised her right arm so that no one else in the arena except her lover had seen. Beyond that point, who knows if he chose the lady or the tiger...
So, that's why I believe the princess let her lover choose the door with the tiger behind it. She let her hated for the beautiful woman get the best of her. Her conceited-ness caused her to tell him the door that the tiger was behind, just so no one else could have him. The princess also could not go against her father's rules, so she was forced to stop seeing him. The thought of him being with another princess was too overwhelming, which furthered her decision to let him get

In the book, “The Lady or The Tiger” by frank Stockton, one of the main characters, the princess, is jealous when she points to the door with the tiger behind it. The author says, “And with all the intercity of the lines of completely barbaric ancestors, she hated the woman that blushed and trembled behind the door.” This quote shows, that she has a very strong hatred for this woman. She would choose for the tiger to be behind the door, because she would want to speak revenge on this woman to get her badly injured.
The movie “The Princess and the Frog” is not your typical “boy saves girl” movie. Instead, this Disney movie presents us with a strong female lead who doesn’t need a man to achieve her goals. In many previous Disney movies, it is demonstrated that a girl needs a man in order to get her happily ever after. Without a prince, she is nothing. In “The Princess and the Frog” the gender roles are presented to us as equal, even reverse at times.
Lady and the Tiger Argumentative Essay “She knew in which of the two rooms that lay behind those doors stood the cage of the tiger, and which waited the lady.” Which did she choose? In Frank Stockton's short story, the Lady and the Tiger, the lovely princess loves deeply for a man, but now that her father has found out she is with a man in a lower social class, she had to witness her soul mate be sentenced to her father’s coliseum. The princess loves this man greatly, but she is scared that she would have to watch her lover being mauled by a tiger or fall in love with a woman that she deeply despises.
However, the princess struggles between which door she should send her lover to open. Alternatively, Stockton describes the princess to be as barbaric and imperious as her father. Her insanely jealous heart cannot tolerate even imagining her lover marrying the other woman. Even though the princess professes to love the accused, her self-centered mentality unable her to consider anyone but herself when making a decision. Thus, the evidence causes the reader to believe that the princess’s lover opens the door to the tiger as a result of her barbaric personality, jealousy, and selfishness.
The Princess’s Choice Frank R. Stockton, the author of The Lady or The Tiger, wrote the story and left us questioning who might have been behind the door. The story is puzzling and mysterious all together. The story gives many evidences and hints to the princess’s decision. Some would say that the lady came out from behind the door, but there are several evidence that show that the princess chose the door with the tiger. First of all, if the princess chose the lady, she would be in so much pain to see her lover and the lady together.
This was actually a fair decision because he had no idea in which door the tiger or the lady was in. The semi-barbaric king had a daughter whom he loved above all humanity the princess was in love with a young man he was handsome and brave she loved him very much . Many may think that in the story “The Lady, or the Tiger?” By Frank R. Stockson the lady came through the door, In fact the tiger was the one that came through the door because the princess hated the lady that was behind the door and she would never let her lover be married to someone whom she hates. The other reason is that the princess knows that they glared at each other when they were together so she knows there’s something going on between them two.
