Jeffrey Dahmer: Killer Cannibal Jeffrey Dahmer once said, “I remember my first sexual encounter because I kept the recipe”. Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer was a serial killer. He was also a cannibal and necrophiliac, which is someone who has sex with a dead person. By the age of 34, Dahmer had killed, dismembered, and ate 17 young minorities. The victims’ ages range from 14 to 31 years old (Martin, 4-5). Jeffrey Dahmer is one of the cruelest serial killers.
Dahmer’s childhood was an unusual one. He was born in West Allis, Wisconsin, and has a younger brother named David. When Jeffrey was eight, he and his family moved to Ohio. As Dahmer got older, he became creepier. For example, he became fascinated with cults and acid. One of his hobbies

14-year-old Konerak Sinthasomphone was found drugged and fully naked in the street by two 17-year-old girls. They called the police in a panic. When they ended the call, Dahmer ran up to them and told them Konerak was his 19-year-old boyfriend, who had been drinking. They did not believe him. When the police showed up, they bought Dahmer's story and handed Konerak over to him. Later in the evening, he killed, ate, and dismembered Konerak. He kept his skull as a prize. All of that could have been prevented if the police would have followed protocol and done a background check on Dahmer before handing over Konerak (Crime Museum …show more content…
He was tried for 17 murder charges, however, he only confessed to 11. Dahmer pled not guilty by reason of insanity. Soon after the trial had started, Jeffrey was asked the question about why he killed only minorities. His answer was, “Because they are all ignorant, they should all die. I was cleaning the earth of those maggots, and I believe I did my share”. After two grueling weeks of trial, the jury found him sane, and guilty of 15 murders. He was given 15 consecutive life sentences, or 957 years in the Columbia County Prison in Portage, Wisconsin (Biography.com 5).
Dahmer’s time in prison was not very long. However, his short time in prison was strange. For example, he would make fake limbs out on his lunch, and eat them. He would also put ketchup around his mouth, and tell the guards, “Be careful, I bite”. Dahmer’s creepy sense of humor made him lose his life. On November 28, 1994, he was beaten to death by a fellow inmate, Christopher Scarver. They were both in the weight room when Scarver hit him over the head with a metal bar twice. He died on the way to Divine Savior Hospital in Portage. Later in the same day, Scarver killed another man the same way (Biography.com
As most serial killers do, he would keep souvenirs from his victims, such as skulls, genitalia, and polaroid pictures. The first time Jeffrey killed someone was shortly after high school graduation, in June of 1978. He picked up hitchhiker Steven Hicks, took him to his parents house, where he lived alone because both of his parents had moved out since they divorced. He got the man drunk, and struck him over the head and strangled him with a barbell when he began to leave. Jeffrey’s second victim was killed in September of 1978.
He remained this way up until his first murder, when he was only 18. His first victim was a hitchhiker named Steven Hicks. Dahmer took the young man back to his parent’s house where he proceeded to get him drunk. As soon as Hicks tried to leave, Dahmer killed him with a blow to the head from a barbell. He dismembered the body and buried it in plastic bags behind his parent’s house.
Additionally, he experimented with lobotomies, drilling holes into victims' brains while they were still alive and injecting their brains with muriatic acid. He was very careful in how he chose his victims so that he would not get caught as easily, which included people that were criminals and people of color. On May 27, 1991, Dahmer’s neighbor Sandra Smith called the police with reports of a
He dismembered the bodies and often ate parts of them. He also performed an experiment one of his victims. Dahmer injected hydrochloric acid into the brain of a 14 year old boy in attempt to zombify him. This, of course, killed the boy and his body was dismembered and stored in acid. After killing 17 boys and men, Dahmer almost killed his 18th victim.

Jeffrey Dahmer As one of the most notorious serial killers in US history, Jeffrey Dahmer was a very sick and delusional individual who lived out his fantasies on his prey. Before he went on trial, he had pleaded guilty but insane. (I carried it 1). Dahmer had told police that he wanted a sex slave which was completely compliant, and zombie-like so they could not leave him.

He was charged with fifteen counts of murder(green 61). Since he had already confessed his murders to the police, he pleaded guilty but insane. They claimed the cause of his killings was a result of his fear of being alone. This in effect, directly lead him to have sexual relations with the bodies(blue 97).
The court ruled that even with his plea he knew what his actions were and ruled against the plea. “If he had been found insane he would have been hospitalized in the state mental institution and would be eligible to petition for release every six months”(The New York Times Company). “Even with an insanity plea Dahmer was sentenced to 15 consecutive life sentences on counts of murder. He was denied parole “If he were to gain parole in one sentence, the next sentence would automatically take effect, making him ineligible for parole for 936 years, prosecutors said”(The New York Times Company). Dahmer committed his first murder when he was a teenager which led to his cannibalism later in his life. Jeffrey Dahmer was raised in a family in which his father was not aware of the inner struggles of his son. It is believed that Dahmer was sexually abused when he was an eight-year-old by one of the boys in his neighborhood. Jeffrey Dahmer was a loner who felt neglected by his family and did not fit well with his peers.
Jeffrey Dahmer created a tidal wave of horror, disgust, and dismay when the nation learned of the macabre crimes of necrophilia and dismemberment that followed the murder and rape of seventeen young men and boys. Spanning from 1978 to 1991, Dahmer lead victims to their deaths by luring the men to his home and committing acts of utmost sin, claiming he was searching for “what [had] caused [him] to be so bad and evil” (15 Life Terms). Despite his plea for insanity, after a span of thirteen years, Dahmer received his sentence of fifteen life terms and no parole. Although Jeffrey Dahmer pleaded for death, his sentencing does not effectively punish his actions, for no punishment is applicable due to the absence of Dahmer’s empathy towards mankind.
Every article, report and case study about Dahmer always says the same thing; he was a withdrawn young man who had a drinking and no friends. His father thought something was wrong with him and his grandmother who also thought his behavior was strange and at one point
