The Mongols are perceived as a savage people who only wanted to surmount the world but in authentically they are not troglodytic. They are a misunderstood culture who have authentically done some commendable things like bringing other cultures and religions together without persecution. In document A the Mongol imperium is shown at its height. During this time the imperium had surmounted 4,860,000 square miles of land.

During the time of both the witch-hunt eras, whether for communist or actual witches, they prove to have many similarities between them. Joseph McCarthy proved to be a factor in this time and add on to the chaos that was America. Arthur Miller wrote about these times in a book called The Crucible, based on the witch trial era.

This means that a majority of the population were hurt during the gilded age whereas a small percentage benefitted. As seen in document 1, living conditions were crowded, dirty, and unsafe.

Mongols had countless ways of forcing fear not only on their enemies but among their own people as well. The Mongols number one method in ensuring that their people will stay in line is by threatening death upon them. If a few, in battle, flee from the enemy the entire group gets killed, unless they return back and in this case only the ones who originally fled are killed. If one or two from a group goes bravely towards the enemy, and others don’t follow, they are killed.
People had both the right and the duty to make whatever changes were necessary to come up with a new government or new reforms to that government to better serve their needs. This is basically was the mindset of the people who believed that reform was need in society. The Second Great Awakening refers to a period of religious revivals at occurred in the United States in the 1830s. After this period, many reform movements took place to better serve society and the people in it.

They always obeyed orders and were trained under conditions that would only toughen them up and make them stronger mentally and physically. For example, Polo says that they were trained to stay on the backs of their horses for 2 days and 2 nights straight no matter what. They were sturdy and strong warriors that knew no limits and showed no mercy for their targets/enemies. With these reasons stated, the Mongols were viewed as a force to not be reckoned with, and if anyone dared to stand in their way, they were to be put out with the required force necessary or even more at their own
It is without a doubt that the Mongols were a barbaric group of people whose legacy for being brutal and murdering millions is still alive and very well known today. But what we don't consider often enough is their reasons for acting this way towards outsiders from their own group. The reason for this was because from the beginnings the Mongol people were nomads. Being a nomadic civilization required one to compete for livestock and pasture land with other tribes. This does not excuse the Mongolians for the horrible acts committed but we need to consider their reasons behind their brutality.
