Problems in an essay As I was writing my literacy narrative, I encountered three main problems. The first problem I encountered was properly using grammar and punctuation. Another problem I had was identifying the correct way to use a comma, as well as, making sure I did not have comma splices in my writing. I also had difficulty staying with one story line. I would write about several different topics instead of focusing on one topic.
When reviewing the essay, I wrote, I discovery several error in my writing. First error was when writing a paper, I usually choose the wrong word choices. I tend to have to many commas, and to many complex sentence. Accordingly, having improper punctuation that should not be with a subject or a verb. There was some fragment in the writing and incomplete sentences that did not belong.
It makes us analyze words in a deeper context that have to do with our argument. As a writer, I think that many of any arguments I make are incomplete. With the quotation journal, you’re supposed to look closer at words while broadening your scope on words so that our analysis is more interesting and can connect to our thesis in an intriguing way. This is how I have expanded as a writer. Before, I would rarely mention anything interesting in my analysis.
Mistakes I made in my preliminary paper are things I need to freshen up on. I used a lot of wrong words. I also had contractions, and I did not use correct apostrophes showing possession. What I did not know is to use standard American English. Now looking at your remarks I understand using “tons” was not correct.
At the beginning of the book, Gladwell narrates short stories to prove that we should trust our snap judgments. However, by the middle of it, the anecdotes are used as evidence that unconscious decisions are not good. In addition, the book fails to explain how this process works psychologically or neurologically, as well
Even though I knew what my story was and how I felt about the situation, I could not come up with a way to properly structure the narrative. To accomplish my personal narrative paper, I started to just scribble down all my ideas and then started to weed out the ones that I could live without. It turned into an outline that took me from start to finish on this assignment. After I had an outline I still did not know where everything should go, in my first draft I structured it more like an argumentative essay. The best advice for that was to not have an introduction paragraph, but that advice was a little too vague.
One out of the three weaknesses is organizing ideas. Whenever I am caught up in the moment, I tend to lose track of organization in Writing. The second weakness is not being specific about my topic enough for the readers to understand what my paper is mostly about. My third and final weakness in English is punctuation. Every time I type or write, I tend to miss out most of the punctuation in my paper.
My process is a far cry from normal. While writing essays, I get as much information down on paper then organize the information into paragraphs. Once that is done, I tend to write the story over in a few different forms then keep my favorite one. Although this process may sound strange, it works for me especially when I am in my writing environment. Adjusting my writing environment would be quite troublesome due to the fact that I dislike writing in front of people or in busy, crowded places because I am easily distracted.
