Moving to Cleveland was one of the worst days of my life.My mom told us to pack our bags because we were moving to one of the best and most beautiful places in Ohio. I was an idiot and thought Ohio would be just like The Woodlands. I thought they would have winning teams, lots of trees, and comfy neighborhoods with parks, but it was exactly the opposite. After driving for over 1,000 miles in the car, we arrived in a crumby apartment complex. The walls seemed to cry as you saw the paint peeling off the walls and rat scurried under abandoned dumpsters. Right after I unpacked my bags, my mom shipped us off to Washington Junior High. It was late in the semester so Mrs.White said that the next project would be my only grade. For the project, we
It was a rainy, gloomy afternoon, my sister and I were watching TV when we heard my parents talking to their friend about moving to Florida. My sister and I looked at each other with confused faces and asked each other if we are moving. Of course, we were clueless because my parents did not mention anything about moving to us. We asked my parents if we are moving and they said yes we are going to be moving to Florida. When my sister and I heard Florida, the first thing we thought was we are going to die from a tornado, because we thought Florida had a lot of hurricanes, earthquakes, and natural disasters.
I’ve completed my move to Houston. I traded in my Maryland license for a Texas one. With that said, I’ve found a new church home. I joined Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church on January 13th. The church is very similar to STCF.
In the spring of 2012, I was informed that we were going to move. As a thirteen going on fourteen year old, the news was rather jarring. I was born and raised in that house, in that town, it was all I knew. We packed up our belongings and began the 678 mile journey to our new “home.” Moving from Hartland, Michigan to Durham, North Carolina was not only immense in distance, but in way of life.
The move back to Maryland was one of the biggest challenges in my life, everything was okay in Ohio until my step dad caused problems with me and my mom. It all started when my mom tried kicking my step dad out of the house for domestic violence. She kicked him out because not only has he fought with my mom, but he and I have fought a few times. Everything seemed fine at first until he kept bringing police officers to our house claiming almost all of our household items were his and he wanted to get them back. Of course the officers eventually weren’t allowing him to keep coming back to bug us about it and told him to go to the court and take the problem to a civil court judge.
Well the crops weren’t as good this season, but then again, I never had time for my crops. It’s been a really sad year because first my newborn baby die from the flu. Then my beautiful wife got the flu and I couldn’t do anything thing for her and she died too.
Change is something the whole world goes through at one point or another in their lives, but what’s vital is what we chose to do with that change. It was the summer of 2005, the weather outside was as heavy as an anvil, nevertheless this was the norm in south Florida. My childhood was one to reminisce. Life was perfect, but that all altered when my parents said we were moving to Atlanta Georgia. Things weren’t as easy as I thought they would be, but my biggest reason was my school
Not everyone has the privileges to know what I’m about to tell you so consider yourself lucky. From what motived me to move to Milwaukee, my passion and my ambitions to succeed in life. Saturday morning like any other Saturday back in 2009, in Glenview a small town just north of Chicago) I woke up at 7:00am to get ready and go to work like any other day, back then I used to work at this restaurant called Yard House, I was a prep cook, my job was to have all the ingredients for the salads ready, from dressings to tortilla chips for the second shift.
My heart was briskly pumping. I have never been this fearful and apprehensive for anything in my life. The event that would transform my life forever was happening. This was the day I was going to move out of Florida When I was informed of the news at the beginning of the summer, I was unsure on how to react.
I have lived in East Oakland my whole life. To the majority of people, the mention of East Oakland evokes thoughts of violence, shootings, and gangs. I was one of the people who believed in these stereotypes, and for a particularly long time. I was one of the people who saw Oakland as a wasteland, a place with nothing to offer me, and a place I had nothing to offer to.
“My feet are cold! ,” I mumbled for second time trying to get my mom’s attention. The smell of a bonfire filled my nose as I sniffled, trying to fight the numb that came across my face. I received no reply from her though. My eyes wandered and fixed at the glow of the fire we were all standing around.
Moving to Kansas was a big change in my life. At the end of the school year of 2011, four weeks before the last day of school we went on the eight hour road trip to Newton, Kansas. It was exciting. Getting a new place to live, a new home. Change is good, well mostly good.
I 'm not a native of Pennsylvania. Anyone can tell that from my intense love of snow and fall, two things you couldn 't find in a South Florida city like where I lived, where temperatures were always high and foliage stayed the same year round. If you were born in Pennsylvania, you grew up hearing people tell stories of hitting a deer at night meanwhile I grew up hearing stories of people finding alligators in their backyard. Most people know what it 's like to move to a new place, whether it 's a new town, state or country, however, I feel my dramatic move along with the circumstances surrounding it are unique. It taught me that you can make the best out of even the worst situations.

Moving from Tennessee to Ohio in the 6th grade was probably the most difficult times in my life. Boardman, Ohio, is where my mother and I moved too, from Murfreesboro,Tennessee. The environment was definitely a big change for me. Murfreesboro had variety of people with diversity and cultures from all around. Boardman is very basic, and not extremely integrated.
One night, during the cold winter, I walked along the side walk to reach the local store down the block. As I walked out, before I can realize it, I was dropping down onto the concrete while bullets swiftly passed me. I then began to run back home, but I wanted to keep running. Away from Chicago, away from the west side. Growing up in Chicago, it was easy to assume that there was nothing different beyond the blocks of my streets.
