What is the butterfly effect? The butterfly effect is a phenomenon whereby a minute complex system can have large effects elsewhere else. What would be the effects be if Planned Parenthood stopped getting their funding from the government? The reason people want to defund it is for the mere fact that Planned Parenthood does abortions and is federally funded by the government. People have religious reasons and personal reasons for not wanting Planned Parenthood funded.
Planned Parenthood Protects the People: Do the People Protect them? Planned Parenthood was founded in 1916, since then it has made tremendous efforts and contributions to help and even save the lives of millions of people around the world. Planned parenthood is now known as Americas most trusted health care provider. The nonprofit organization is a trusted health care provider, an informed educator, a passionate advocate, and a global partner helping similar organizations around the world. (Planned Parenthood) One of the many services planned parenthood provides is abortion, being a company that supports woman’s rights and health, they give woman the opportunity to have a choice regarding their future.
Surprisingly more than 2000 victims of FGM have received treatment at London Hospitals in last three years, reported by Martin Bentham in ‘London Evening Standard’, 2013. Women are victimized; genocide prevails because governments are unable to defend its people from the cultural and economical downfall. In order to provide one right to citizen, developing countries are forced to violate other human rights because the idealized standard set by western world difficult to
A very popular topic that divides the nation greatly is abortion, many think its wrong and cruel, while others believe its correct in certain situations. You can see the effects of this with the government trying to defund Planned Parenthood, Congress votes to defund and the president overrides it and nothing gets achieved. Media might want to portray this as “Men being horrible humans and they have no right to choose what a women can do with their bodies” and attack men, but there are also women against Planned Parenthood, and thats how it goes with controversial topics, media try to shape to what benefits them and their views. Or, they will try to portray it a specific way that only shows one side saying horrific things and not the other . This is called Political Socialization which is the process by which people form their ideas about politics and acquire their ideas about the government.
Imagine living in a world where proper sexual health care and education was unavailable. Imagine not being able to receive information about contraceptives or options for an unexpected pregnancy. Imagine the number of people with sexually transmitted diseases, exceeding the number of people who do not have them, because treatment for STD’s was unavailable. On average 2.7 million men and women visit Planned Parenthood each year, to receive health care, such as STD screening, numerous cancer screenings and various other programs that are available. Planned Parenthood among countless other HealthCare providers is one of the Nation’s leading providers of “high quality, affordable healthcare for women, men and young people, and also the largest provider of sex education”( Planned Parenthood at a glance).
Abortions are sad and unfortunate, but they will continue to happen, that is the reality of the world we live in. However, if we as a society release abortion from the stigma surrounding it, we will be able to begin finding a solution that won’t have to do with the law, it will have to do with being ready to help the women in these positions. Unsafe and illegal abortions are even more sad than legal and professional ones. To reduce abortions, we should be focused on contraceptives and sex education, not punishing those in this horrible
They believe that the Planned Parenthood clinic is immoral and has even been called a “scandal-plagued organization” by Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA), because of their “lack of compassion towards women and unborn children.” Congress claims that there will be no reduction to the funding of women’s health, only that it will go to a clinic that does not provide abortion services. The problem with this new plan is that many low-income women rely on Planned Parenthood for most of their healthcare services, and defunding the clinic would leave these women with no service. Although Republican congressmen claim that there are 9,000 other clinics around the country that provide women’s healthcare without providing abortions, they are still diminishing the amount of services that women have around the country. Not to mention that abortion is a basic and essential health need for women all around the world. Lawmakers are trying to regulate women’s bodies, and in turn, giving dead bodies more rights to their body than to pregnant women.
Some of their clinics; fetal tissues will only be used for scientific research. Planned Parenthood believes the videos were edited to go against their abortion program, and denies any sort of payment from the fetal tissues sold. If payments were received to the organization, it was done legally for reimbursement of costs. The organization is in the process of more policies to advance attacks against Planned Parenthood. The videos were shown on the internet, television, and Republicans responded and took control of the issues.
Haws and Hunt conclude that relying on your religion isn’t reasonable to oppose the right to end your life when the person has suffered enough. “While I do not support assisted suicide, it is unfair to describe a 10-year illness without addressing the cost [of prolonging life], which would have bankrupted many Americans” (Haws and Hunt). They imply that trying to pay for the patient’s treatment to continue fighting their illnesses will damage them financially and emotionally to the patient and their family. Even though Kuo’s beliefs are some reasons that assisted suicide should be illegal, there will be people who will be against those types of
According to a study conducted by the Surgeon General, which functions as the coordinator and leader of 20 departments in the National Prevention Council since 2010, only one person in each tenth manages to receive the indicated treatment and 40% of addicts do not seek medical support. (The Surgeon General). The biggest issue with this is that while there are places where patients can get treatment most of them would not get it because both lack of more places and interest. Being able to leave the addition becomes almost impossible for many addicts because of the lack of options they have when it comes to where they can get the treatment. According to an article by The Pea charitable trust those public programs that offer suitable treatments reach 23%, being worse in the private sector where there is much less (The Pew Charitable Trusts).
