“The Color Purple” is an epistolary novel that narrates an invented story that it would be perfectly reliable. The book, written by Alice Walker, tells the history of a black girl named Celie, a girl that is living in the United States, in a secluded and rural city.

The way of the author, Alice Walker, is dazzled by her words, were in the first chapter you want to follow to read it. It is written in the first person because Celie is writing by herself in a diary where the destination is God, who is considered as her only friend. With the time, the addresses will change for her sister, Nettie, who is very helpful and the most important person in the life of Celie, being a crucial character, that she will be far away from her sister most of the time, but Celie will keep her in mind in all the book, even if it were in her thoughts.

The story will keep the reader on the edge all the time because it is not visible what is going to happen and how Celie is going to solve every situation that she will have to face. Moreover, it will show that life is not fair but it will be easier …show more content…

In fact, with the repeated occasions of the rapes, she gets pregnant by him, but her babies are taken by him after they are born. Not enough with this, Celie is married to Mr. _, the same happens with this man and Pa, that they are as incognitos. This man is also a bad person that treats in a bad way Celie, but this does not affect to Celie that is only worried about her dear sister Nettie, who wants to save herself from his father because she thinks that can do the same to her that did to her in the past.
