Latin artists almost always start off with fan base in Spanish speaking countries, but once they are able to crossover into the American mainstream music it is a completely different story, it leads to instant fame. My inspiration for my Famous Latino essay is Enrique Iglesias. I have selected him because he is someone who my family has been listening too for years since I was born. Omar geles was born in Valledupar, Colombia, where the vallenato festivals are held. He is well known for playing his accordion and in fact won the title of the king of vallenato in the vallenato festival in 1989. Geles has released many puya inspired songs beginning in 1997. This part is important since it shows how the baseball that Virella watched began to integrate more Latino players, thus changing how the typical Boston athlete appeared. The usual baseball players that were being idolized were just an assortment of white men, but this began to change as Latino players gained popularity.

Even though most people do not have someone that they can say has truly been there throughout everything in their life, I do.
