Mahatma(later known at Mahatma) Ghandi is one of the most influential people because He inspired many world famous people He was a major influence of India becoming independent.He inspired many Indians wishing for Independence to be non violent.

Mahandas Karamchad Ghandi was born on October 2, 1869 in Porbander.Britsh India (Source #5). When Mahandas was 7 he moved to Rajkot and there went to primary school,high school and attended Samaldas College in Bhavnagar(Source #5).A family friend of Ghandi suggested he should go to England and study law. Mahatma Gandhi was a civil rights leader. Gandhi is credited with freeing India from British rule. Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869. He studied in London to become a lawyer and went to South Africa to practice law. While he was in South Africa he began to congregate with the Indian population and held silent strikes against social injustices (Biography.com).
While Nelson Mandela was traveling in secret, he hid “ with Muslims in the Cape; with sugar-workers in the Natal; with factory workers in Port Elizabeth” (Doc O). Mandela also said that “a group of several hundred Africans, Indians, and Coloured . . . [volunteered]” to be in his protests (Doc I). He hungered “for the freedom of all people, black and white” and tried to be inclusive (Doc R).
Mohandas Gandhi was born in 1869 in the Indian coastal city. His family taught him to respect all religions and to believe that all living things are holy. Gandhi traveled to England to study law and after getting his degree returned to India. When Gandhi went back he saw that Indians were treated horribly by the British and they were forced to imitate them. Gandhi refused to live by this and believed people should live free of all class, wealth, and educational distinctions.
"Si, se puede!" was Cesar Chavez's famous motto. Cesar Chavez was a farmer rights activist to improve farm workers rights. Mahatma Gandhi was also a rights activist when the British invaded India, in which he created a new philosophy to fight against the British without using anger. Both had so many things in common, but also contrasted in many ways.
Gandhi convinced the Indians that he could get them their independence. They would get their independence long as they didn't cooperate. Gandhi used a couple of lines from the Declaration of Independence that in other words meant, “if a law is unjust, then it is not a law.” Gandhi also told his people that in order to pretext they had to be willing to get jail time. Gandhi's methods worked because both his people and him were uncooperative.
This shows the corrupted British government does not care what happens to India but only uses India for money and power. Gandhi was a lawyer and saw how Indians were truly treated in person which started his dissatisfaction with the government. Thus, said it started in, “1893 in South Africa… My first contact with the British authorities in that country was not happy. I discovered that as a man and as an Indian I had no rights.
Gandhi's determination was seen when he did not stop protesting even after he was sent jail for it . “Gandi would spend 2338 days in jail” (Document C) from this quote we can see that nothing would stop Gandhi from getting India its independence. Every time Gandhi got out of jail he continued to break laws he viewed as unfair as well continue to protest. Gandhi showed the most determination to free India when he went on the salt march. “Before embarking on civil disobedience and taking a risk I have dreaded to take all these years… I do not intend to harm a single englishmen… even though they might do the greatest wrong to me and mine”(Document A).
Ghandi used many methods to achieve this, including leading nonviolent protests, civil disobedience and negotiation with British authorities.
