With the fact that cyber bullying is inescapable, comes the fact of harm. Bullying leads to depression, which often leads to suicide or self-harm. Source two states, “The idea that hurt feelings justify criminal prosecution… offensive use of the criminal justice system…,” showing how some people believe that cyberbullying results in just hurt feelings. Apparently self-harm and suicide is under the category of “just hurt feelings” for some. Also, apparently the kids that caused the hurt feelings that lead to these horrid responses don’t deserve prosecution.
Bullying Can Be Prevented Bullying is a form of violence to pick on victims because they are different from their bullies, have insecurity/jealousy or home problems. The hate towards their victim has something to do with the victim having an unusual gift or being intelligent the bullies has yet to become. It is important that this behavior should be prevented or it will become worse. Bullying is one of the main issues public and private schools have to face on a day-to-day basis. When the bully takes it too far, the victim snaps and retaliates by fighting him/her back physically or verbally.
Individuals should be prosecuted for statements made on social media. Statements made on social media can cause more than just emotional pain; it can also cause physical pain. Children/Adolescents can get injured because of cyberbullying. In “The Dangers of Cyberbullying” it says “Cyberbullying can also lead to kids getting physically hurt”. Cyberbullying can make a person feel less human, which could lead to them
The child might have to face problems at home and they cannot do anything at home their point is not given importance or they cannot anything. They feel like they have no power. For some kids it might be a situation a lot of fighting in home , a close family member facing issue of drug addiction , parents getting divouce log in to their social media accounts to check what is posted today about their fellow friends and then they make fun of each and everything. People are aware that bullying hurt everyone and it is very difficult for the children to come out of the drama. So why shouldn’t parents teachers root cause of such a attitude, what kind of students are bullying other and why they feel the need to bully others.
Bullying is an undesirable, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves actual disparity of power. According to Megan Brooks bullying is a serious public health problems, with significant short-and long-term psychological consequences for the child who is bullied and the child who is the bully. This only tells us that bullying can lead to difficulty that a certain children may experience and will have either short or long term problem. “Bullying has long been tolerated as a rite of passage among children and adolescents, but it has lasting, negative consequences and cannot simply be ignored.” Committee chair Frederick Rivera, MD. Experiential studies and some high profile communicative cases have demonstrated a connection
Many believe that technology in the hands of young kids is dangerous because it exposes them to things kids their age should not yet be exposed to. The internet exposes kids to inappropriate content such as cursing and inappropriate jokes. Children tend to copy what they see. So, when kids watch Youtubers who curse, they will then start to curse. One could say that the Internet is to blame for this kid’s bad habit of cursing.
Cyberbullying is a huge problem in our society because it can cause harm to teens (Jeff White). Getting cyberbullied is a huge deal because it can cause depression and teens can think about harming themselves. Teens don’t feel comfortable with telling their parents about being bullied, thus never getting help with the issue and it can continue to occur (Jeff White). Telling a parent about being cyberbullied is the difficult thing to say to parents it’s like a big step to take. Cyberbullying is getting bullied through social media, kids get bullied and fear if they tell their parents they wouldn’t be able to use their technology
I believe that bullying causes so much more trouble and that kids should stop bulling and be friends. First, I think people bully because they are mad at them or jealous of them. According to the article by Laura Modigliani people only bully because they connect with other kids that have things in common with them. But that’s not right people should find other ways to meet friends, like join a school club, or play sports, or go to game stores. It would
One such mechanism results in distrust of others. Continuous cyber bullying fosters changes in young adults’ such as displaying antisocial behaviors, increase in social isolation resulting in withdrawal from friends and family members and them becoming insecure. Victims of cyber bullying are more likely to be distrustful of others since attackers remain anonymous, hence fostering feelings of inadequacies and anxiety that tends to remain. The paranoia that develops isolates them further. Kowalski, Limber & Agatson (2012) research suggest that the perpetrators of cyber bullying shared feelings of gratification and or revenge as motivations for their actions.
Effects of cyberbullying cannot be underestimated. Long-term effects showed that those who are bullied also became bullies in the future. Similar to bullying in person, immediate effects of cyberbullying are that the youths who are subjected to cyberbullying tend to separate themselves from the society and live alone. They develop inferiority and doubt on their skills and abilities. Having the high possibility to be depressed, the worst solution is to cut their own lives for they can see that it is the only way to answer their problem.
“ We rely on the real world or teachers and parent to guard against bullies- do we just dismiss bullying on the internet and all it entails because we are entering difficult ethical ground?” (Paragraph 8). With bullies i the real world we can stop them because we see who it is. With bullies at school o another physical place they can or will physically harm the child, but mental trauma from cyberbullies is even harder to cope with. We need a law against the cruelty towards others in all states if it 's for children or adults. Cyber bullying can end a child as easily as adults can destroy a child hood.
