2.5 Technology Acceptance Attitude: Usefulness and Ease of Use
Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) framework has been widely applied to many contexts and fields investigating the acceptance and adoption of new technology product and as well to various system studies. This includes the people’s interest in e-learning, acceptance of smartphone applications, the use of information technology, the use of internet banking, the use of mobile internet and many others. According to Stern, Royne, Stafford and Bienstock (2008), TAM model was used to measure the utility and usability that influenced a technology acceptance and also to anticipate the users’ adoption behaviors towards the new technology or system. TAM was validated as a vigorous and powerful

The observation then was done by evaluating the relationships between perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude towards using, behavioral intentions to use and the actual use of mobile communication devices in Malaysia. The analysis demonstrated that both the user perceptions and attitudes have significant positive effects on behavioral intention and actual use of a smartphone for learning purposes. Undergraduate students’ attitude towards the use of the smartphones is influenced by the perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use of the smartphone with perceived usefulness having a more prominent impact compared to perceived ease of …show more content…
Malathi Letchumanan and Balakrishnan Muniandy (2013) used the TAM as the theoretical framework to capture users’ acceptance towards e-books technology among undergraduate mathematics students of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The results revealed that perceived ease of use significantly influenced the perceived usefulness whereby users prefer to use e-books only if when they are easy to use. Therefore, perceived ease of use is considered an important determinant in making e-books to be perceived as useful for learning and reference materials by the users. Once the user perceives e-books technology as easy to use, they will develop a positive attitude towards the use of e-books. Thus, perceived ease of use does affect the attitude towards the use of e-books. This result was in line with another previous studies conducted by Yusliza, Zikri, Mohd Salehuddin, Ermy Syaifuddin and Emmaliana Robert (2009) towards the e-library usage among students in a public university in Malaysia using TAM. This indicates that if users find that the technology is easy to use, they will be more willing to use it to improve the quality of their
Since many health information infrastructure systems are relatively new, there is still variability in the implementation stages that different organizations have achieved. Additionally, most systems will have more than one capability that provides value, so the relationship between the system’s functionality and the resulting impact to patient care must be analyzed in order to determine the value it provides (Einstein, Juzwishin, Kushniruk, & Nahm, 2011). Value of health information infrastructures can be assessed in many different ways, including whether the technology allows the availability of useful information, how that information is utilized by staff and patients, and its impact on health outcomes. For information to be of value and influence medical decision making, it must be comprehensive, accessible, useful, and valid (Fitterer, Mettler, Rohner, & Winter, 2011).
Because, nowadays, e-readers are developed enough, her article could play an important role in making e-readers a significant tool for education. Moreover, the author is motivated to write the article as the number of the articles which discuss the impact of e-reader on reading practice of children is low. In addition to choosing the right time, Larson shows credibility in her article because of her experience as an instructor in the field of learning technologies. Furthermore, the case study, which is done by the author, makes the information believable. Also, the author is fair and respectful by not attacking people who read printed books to show the pros of e-reader.
The authors present the information to imply that many, if not all college students a) own a cell phone, and b) refuse to
Normally, when people become bored, they either go outside or read an interesting book. However, in this day and age, picking up your phone or computer is the first thought. The development of technology has grown over the years, allowing for new ways to work, travel, and communicate. In today’s world, technology has been redeveloped to cause more attraction, which has resulted in a change in social involvement and negative consequences.
In ancient times, the tribes and civilizations got through life with the technology they had. It was very difficult to even plant a field of corn. These people got their jobs done with less efficient tools, but in today’s world, we have better technology and tools. Document 1 is talking about a plant that had many uses. Some of these uses included being used to fence a field, use as firewood, use as a plate for dinner, use as roof tiles, and to make clothes.

"Technology is like art. It is a soaring exercise of the human imagination". Like everything in this world that has its good and bad effects on us, technology does too. How we use technology is important in determining what results it would bring us. Nowadays, technology is heavily used for educational purposes.
Smartphone is one of the best invention in twenty first century. Smartphone is an all-in device that provide functionality of other device such as calculator, torch light, media player and camera. information systems to improve job efficiency). Applied to social media, the model fails to take into account characteristics specific to social media such as the “entertainment” component and it being used primarily in an individual, personal, voluntary and non-organizational setting (Rauniar et al., 2014). This is rather logical as the model was developed before the advent of social media. Consequently, a more unified model called the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) was formulated by Venkatesh, Morris, G. Davis & F. Davis (2003) to address the shortcomings of the theoretical models before including TAM. The UTAUT model has been adjusted to better fit today’s various technological contexts.
Therefore this research will make use of the Extended Technology Acceptance Model with Theory of Planned Behavior and Theory of Perceived Risk
