THE IMPACT OF TECHNOLOGY USAGE TOWARDS SOCIETY SOCIAL In 21st century, technology is just another jargon we used to describe our modern lifestyle and development we have achieved, thinking and behaviour. Realize it or not, our life is so occupied with technology in all kind of forms from the time we start our day until the end of the day and that cycle continues. What is technology? According to Oxford Dictionary, technology is defined as the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes, especially using technical processes, methods, or knowledge. Through technology, people are able to improve their surroundings and use tools and machines to do various tasks efficiently. Improvements in technology lead to increases in knowledge and information, thus, create better technology. This causes sociologists to concern about how societies will be forced to adapt to the social changes that improvements in technology will continue to bring. Social change refers to any significant alteration over time in behaviour patterns and cultural values and norms while society refers to the people who interact in such a way as to share a common culture. The cultural bond may be ethnic or racial, based on gender, or due to shared beliefs, values, and activities. One way to define technology is to look at science and technology as parts of a social system.
