There has been a lot of research into user experience product and human interaction. User experience is defined as "a consequence of the presentation, functionality, system performance, interactive behaviour, and assistive capabilities of an interactive system, both hardware and software." (Pucillo.F, 2013). Also it is an outcome of the user's involvements, attitudes, skills, propensities and identity. The happiness of clients and significance of procuring from slip-ups is the most important aspect of the success of a product.

User centred design is a term used to portray the design process where the design is impacted by the end-users. In (Norman, 1988), he explains the design should: make it easy to determine what actions are possible at any moment, make things visible, including, concepts, alternatives and results, make it easy to evaluate the current state of the system and follow natural mappings between intentions and required actions. These exact suggestions can place the user at the centre of the design. Facilitating the task of the user is main role of the designer. (Norman, 1988) even suggests that some manuals that accompany products are not user centred. They have small type font and the layout can be random. They also include so many different versions of the basic instructions in different languages that it can be a challenge to even find the English instructions. This is the very reason why most users tend not to read the manuals and just delve straight into trying to use the product. This can lead to a series of problems as the product might be misused and lead to a breakage of the product or even an injury to the user. Manuals are regularly considered to have a little part in the product development. Nonetheless, users frequently structure conclusions around a product and its producer by their knowledge of figuring out how to function the item and how disappointing it was for them to not …show more content…

Emotional design has helped built the designers knowledge of the users. It creates a link between the user and designer so the designer can empathise with the user. It also generates links between user experience and emotional attachment generated by the user when using a product. The basis for Kansei engineering is to build a relationship between the user and the product. The consumer will have certain feelings and thoughts when they are about to purchase the product. It is a consumer-orientated strategy that was first implemented in Japan. Examples of organizations that are introducing Kansei Engineering include: the automotive industry, construction machine industry, electric home appliance industry, office machine industry, house construction industry, costume industry, cosmetic industry and a few others.[8] (Nagamachi, 2002). A study of kansei engineering is shown in (Nagamachi, 2002) for the automotive company Mazda. They developed a sports car called the Miata which was designed for young people. They carried out surveys of customers, especially young drivers, to get details about their manoeuvrings, behaviours and attitudes. Their goal of this study was gain knowledge about how the drivers feel about their cars. They want to know exactly what the user is thinking and feeling when they are about to buy a car. The product development starts with the concept at the zero-level and this is
