By using GPS we will be able to use the shortest route to go to our destination and this will reduce the amount of oil we consume and also the amount of time we spent on the road. Usually I use GPS to know the best route to go to places I have not been to yet because it is easy to use and can get the result fast. When in a journey I can determine my position in the map thus helps me to know the distance from my destination and can prevent me from getting lost. I can plan my journey efficiently by knowing where to stop for rest such as stopping at R&R. Furthermore, by looking how far the distance I can budget the time to refill my oil according to the journey. When using GPS I can choose from the shortest route or the free-toll route. The most frequent apps I use is Waze because it is very easy to use and user-friendly. Also it does not requires internet connectivity to function thus reduce phone battery usage. For my opinion, i think that a chronometer would prove to be the most useful because, “[the] chronometer could determine… longitude with great precision”(Tyson 314).
