My final is about the difference between the book and the movie “The Outsiders.” This next paragraph is about the description difference between the book and movie. Then the paragraph after that will be about the description of the background or cars that the characters drive or live in. I think that the move and the book where basted of the same story but I think that when the directors made the movie with some different cars or house that can change the movie or they put different things in it so that the movie will look better. Altogether the movie and the book were pretty good and had good meaning to it about want to think of life and it’s alright to not be tough and hard.

In the movie we watched there were several events that did not happen that were in the book. The book and movie have many similarities, but there are more differences distinguished.

The Greasers are a group of poor teenagers who come from broken families, and often have to rely on each other. However, the Socs are a group of rich kids, who drive fancy cars, and like to beat up Greasers or throw beer blasts for fun. When analyzing the two novels, one can compare and contrast the social inequalities racism, classism, and bullying. These inequities enhance the reader’s understanding of how society is separated. While racism is present in The Wednesday Wars, the subject is not present in The Outsiders.
My class and I just finished reading the book “The Outsiders” by S.E. Hinton, and watching the movie. There were way more events in the book than in the movie. The movie seemed way shorter than the book. The book seemed way more entertaining to me than the movie. They were both great but the book was just a little better than the movie.
One theme in The Outsiders is “friendship” this is shown all throughout the book and movie . One example of this theme is when Johnny killed Bob, who was a socs, to defend his friends. This occurs a lot with Johnny, who had very poor home life, for him it was all he had was friends. Another example was when Ponyboy ran away with Johnny to help him get away so he wouldn't be caught. This is a big deal because if Ponyboy is scene with Johnny then he will be accused too.
In the Outsiders, the characters usually make bad decisions. The Greasers are a gang that function like family, and Johnny’s decisions are not so good. But sometimes they can be spot on. The theme is watch out for what decisions you make, Understand that what ever choice you make there will be a consequence. Johnny made the difficult choice to kill Bob.
There are comparisons and contrast in the movie and the book “The Outsiders”. For example in both when Ponyboy and Johnny run away from after killing Bob they go on the train to the abandoned church in both. They are similar because in the story and movie Johnny kills bob then runs away with Pony. They go to Dally where he gave them a pistol and told them to jump on the train and get off at the second stop Windrixville and go to the abandoned church on top of jay mountain. Another example of similarities between both is they still have all the main characters in the greaser gang.
The character Johnny grows in major ways throughout The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. Johnny was a greaser, His best friend was Ponyboy, the main character. Johnny was a dynamic character, he contributed a lot to the main theme. Johnny had bad parents and committed murder. Soon after his bad acts, he became a hero.
In young adult literature there are many characters who leave a perennial impression on the reader. Many of these are considered dynamic characters because of changes they induced throughout the plot. In S.E. Hinton’s novel The Outsiders, Johnny Cade is a character that goes through a major change in personality. At first a boy who is afraid of his own shadow, Johnny turns into a gallant hero that risked his life to save children.

In the novel The Outsiders by S.E Hinton, it goes over the life of a teenager and the pain of losing your loved ones and only having your friends to rely on. All decisions made in the story were crucial in every way since it went over real life situations. One character who’s decisions were influenced by the gang members called the Greasers and the environment he lived in was Johnny. Some decisions Johnny made that were influenced by the gang members were killing the Soc, wanting to turn himself in, and saving the children in the burning church.
In the novel The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton, there are several ironies which relate to life lessons that can be learned from the story. Johnny Cade seems weak and small physically, but really he is strongest emotionally. Little do the greasers know, Johnny is the glue holding the gang together. Ponyboy Curtis describes Johnny as “smaller than the rest” and “the puppy that’s been kicked too many times” (11). This shows that in the greasers’ eyes, Johnny is the gang’s pet.

The Outsiders book is a……lot better than the Outsiders movie. The movie left out a……lot of key parts that were in the book which affected the movie's character development. The book makes the story feel cool and irreplaceable, but the movie makes it fake and irrelevant. The book is better than the movie because the movie cut out a……lot of character development that was given in the book. In the movie there was not a……lot about Darry and Sodapop for us to understand them.
