After the Declaration of Independence in 1787, the Federal Government turned to the creation of the Constitution in which delegates from 13 states convened to make compromises on their beliefs for the betterment of a nation. Although the Bill of Rights was initially not a part of the Constitution, the Federalists thought that it was crucial to ensure ratification of the Constitution. This ratification was one of the main reasons why the Bill of Rights needed to be added. Federalists feared a strong, central government, and created a Bill of Rights in order to prevent government abuse. Others believed that a dominating Government could prohibit rights in the future, which would not necessarily be expressed in the Bill of Rights.
The central principle of the constitution is guidance of a people through governance, in relations with other governments, relations with its own citizens, commerce etc. The constitution of the United States is a written document. This document strongly emphasizes a strong streak of independence from control of a central authority. This is not surprising especially because the U.S. constitution was written in strong alignment with a United States fresh from independence from the British monarchy. The British Monarchy had increasingly imposed punitive laws on its subjects in the American colonies such as the imposition of taxes.
Throughout time American politics have been shaped by many different occurrences. The government and politics we have today are structured majorly based on the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution. These two creations are fundamental to the American government. That is because the Articles of Confederation settled the purpose of the national government in America. It was meant to unite the thirteen colonies that were governed by the British.
There are 6 Important principles in the Constitution, Federalism, Republicanism, Popular Sovereignty, Limited Government, Separation of Powers and most importantly Checks and Balances. Checks and Balances are the counterbalancing powers which ensure that political power is not concentrated in one or more groups. They are the most important part of government because it prevents unfair laws/restrictions and it ensures that no side has too much power. Checks and Balances do this through many ways. Checks balance power by allowing all sides to “check” each other.
Back in olden times there was a war about the united states but did you know that it took away to write to constitution and to ratify it. The U.S constitution was to help the country agree on things and stay happy without wars. Ratify means to be approved. Yes the constitution should be ratified because of the bill rights, separation of power and talking about the bill of rights. I think this for these reasons.
The Constitution Requirements The Articles of Confederation is established a firm league of friendship among the states, is the first constitution of the 13 American states, adopted in 1781 and replaced in 1789 by the Constitution of the United States. Before 1781, the U.S was in a period was a loose confederation of states, each operating like independent countries. The national government was comprised of a single legislature, the Congress of the Confederation; there was no president or judicial branch. One is that the Constitution shows the control that the government has. It also shares with us the rights and protection that all people in America have. The first part of the Constitution is known as the Preamble that lets us know that we as American are one and connected. There are seven Articles and the first three tell us how the government
One of the compromises made in the Constitutional Convention is the three-fifths compromise. In this compromise, the southerners wanted to add slaves to the population of the state they lived in. If slaves were included in their state’s population, that state would be able to add more representatives in the House of Representatives. Northerners did not agree with that statement because slaves did not have the right to vote. After the delegates compromised, they agreed that only three-fifths of the slave’s population would be counted into the state’s population.
After signing the Declaration of Independence in 1776, The 13 former colonies were undergoing an identity crisis. It was one thing to declare independence, but it was another to realize what you were now that you declared it. The Constitution was eventually written, at an attempt to create a more perfect union between the states. One of the amazing things about the Constitutional Convention was that the people knew most governments would result in either chance or war. They knew that what they were doing was sitting in a room and rationally trying to create a good government.
The US Constitution is a document based on the US Federal government’s law and it presents legal checks and balance for the branches of government. The reasoning behind this system was to give an in depth set of values and guidelines for the American people. It is separated into three parts: The Articles, the Bill of Rights, and the changes and additions. The initial three articles are written to establish the responsibilities, powers, and balance each branch the federal government has.
The Articles of Confederation and the Constitution are very alike. Like, they were both written by the same person, and they were both official government of the united states. Plus, They were both the laws of the United States government. However, there was a great connection between them it was that the Articles of Confederation was the first written Constitution. The AoC was used to make the Constitution with the weaknesses and failures of it.
The Constitution of the State of Texas describes the structure and the function of the government of the U.S. state of Texas. It was established in 1827 when Texas was still a part of Mexico under the Mexican Constitution of 1824 . Due to escalating tensions between the two states, Texas established its independence in 1836, established the Republic of Texas, and adopted a new constitution. In March 1, 1845, the U.S. enacted a congressional joint resolution that proposed the annexation of Texas to the United States. The people of Texas approved an annexation ordinance and a new constitution on October 13, 1845.
The Articles of Confederation were the first set of guidelines for the government in America that was ratified in 1781. The Articles of Confederation limited the powers of the government, gave most of the control to each individual state, did not require a president, and was quickly found to be ineffective. It left America at risk to be invaded by other countries or to suffer from economic problems. If another country wanted to conduct business in America, they had to deal with each state individually. Any amendment required unanimous approval (Evans & Michaud, 2015).
