Lonnie was the man's name and he was taking a load down to Louisiana, so that's where Josh and Joey went. Lonnie and the boys stopped at a cafe and ate, one of the waitresses told them she knew a guy that owned a carnival, and that Josh might be able to get a job there. This made a big impact for Josh and Joey because Lonnie fed them and that Josh might get a job. Another thing was since winter is on the way in Nebraska they are on their way to warmer weather.

They went to Eatonville where he became mayor of the town, mayor Joe Starks. The people of Eatonville soon called Janie, Mrs. Mayor Starks. Janie loved being with Joe and being his wife. In the novel “The Watsons Go to Birmingham - 1963”, there is a character named Byron Watson. Byron is the brother of Kenny Watson and Joetta Watson, and the son of Wilona Watson and Daniel Watson. The Watsons plan to send Byron away to live with his strict grandmother in Birmingham, Alabama due to his dangerous, mischievous, and negative behavior. I strongly agree with this decision for three reasons.
With dad’s drinking increasing and the kids getting hungrier and thinner, the kids are on their final straw. The Watsons Go to Birmingham 1963 is actually a great book. Christopher Paul Curtis did a wonderful job writing this book. This story faces a lot of things that was going on in the 60s. This story had so many lessons to learn from. They were hatred, and bullying.

Have you ever rode in a car for more than 24 hours? The plot in the book of “Watson’s Go To Birmingham”, is about a family going on a trip to Birmingham in 1963 and experience an event that makes them see how wrong color in the south are treated. The plot in the movie is more about how colored had been fighting for their rights and all the event leading up to everyone becoming equal. In “Watson’s Go To Birmingham”, lots of events changed the plot like the movie is focused mainly on Civil Rights while the book isn 't, but Joey leaves the church before it blows up in both, so there are some similarities. There are many differences between the book and the movie, like in the book they all stayed down at Grandma Sands, but in the movie the dad didn’t stay with them.
Do you know why people could be motivated to act a certain way? Motivation can be the key to the reason for a person’s behavior and what they’re doing. Depending on who or what made them motivate the outcome and it could be good or bad. In the novel,” The Watsons go to Birmingham-1963,” a boy named Byron was motivated in different ways good and bad.

Jonny and Ponyboy knew it was their fault, so they jumped out of the car and bolted into the church. As Ponyboy was getting the last kid out of the window, the roof started to cave in while Jonny was still inside. Jonny had a broken back, sever burns and ended up
Characters change a lot throughout stories. For example “The Watsons go to Birmingham -1963” the question is, who has changed the most; is it Byron or Kenny? I believe that Byron has changed in ways of his attitude, his respect for his grandma Sands, and his respect for everyone.
The poem “Making Sarah Cry” and the play “The Watsons go to Birmingham” have the similar theme of being different. In “Making Sarah Cry” Sarah is different from the other kids on the playground. In “The Watsons go to Birmingham” the Watson family has a different skin color so they are separated from whites to do everyday tasks. The texts, both share a similar theme, but have different qualities. For example, in “Making Sarah Cry” only two people are excluded from playing with kids because of their differences.
