Troy Aikman was born and raised in the suburbs of Covina, California. As an infant Troy had congenital problems with his feet causing him to have to wear braces up to his knees until he was 14 months old. That didn’t stop him from being an athlete. At age 12 he moved to Oklahoma where he fell in love with football. He was the quarterback for his team and continued to get all-state honors his senior year. Aikman went to college at OU only to be denied the playing time he wanted. After an ankle injury, he transferred to UCLA and got All-American honors both years he was there and finished in third in NCAA all time passer which really hyped him up as an NFL prospect.
