Many schools now are starting to take out the sweet treats from the cafeteria and adding in more healthy foods. As you know, many schools sell junk food at lunch. Students may enjoy a sweet treat during the school day. Others are thinking differently that the junk food should be kicked out and replaced with healthier foods. Even though a healthier lunch program would be expensive and take some time to get used to, schools should use it. Providing students unhealthy foods can lead to obesity, it can cause early unhealthy habits; and students should have enough time to eat these healthy foods at lunch.

Yes, it is up to student's parents what they want their children to eat. Parents want their children to eat healthy, but with unhealthy foods at school that possibly cannot happen. If junk food is provided then some students may be tempted to eat it. If it is provided everyday then it could lead to bad habits. The CDC publishes a report called MMWR (Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report). In a 1996 report entitled “Guidelines for School Health Programs to Promote Lifelong Healthy Eating”, teaching as well as providing children with knowledge of nutrition in schools can help to enhance their choices of food intake which can impact their mind development, health, and altogether growth. Gaining unhealthy eating habits can have almost immediate effects, including undernutrition, obesity, and iron deficiency (anemia). Many effects can lead to trouble learning in the classroom. The healthier food program’s goal in schools is to get kids into healthy eating habits before bad ones set in. So they may have a successful eating life as an adult. It stands to reason that if junk food stays in schools it cannot have a great effect on students’
They could load their lunches with any junk food without any limit. It also can create a negative impact because students could stop eating lunch all together. Students would stop eating the lunches that are provided at school and not pack lunches. Students would lack the nutrition that is needed and create some even worse problems
For all the cuts that have been made to school foods, six percent has not been a big decrease. School lunches don’t provide any nutritional value for the kids. The purpose for a school lunch is to provide kids with a dependable lunch that has good proportional amounts and nutrition value. The obesity rates need to drop higher and faster in the next ten years if they want to make cuts out of our meals and the meals need to be proportioned to size.
Are School Lunches Really Healthy For You? Imagine going to school and thinking, oh boy what am I going to have for lunch today? And all of the sudden you see something you don’t like, so you don’t eat it and then your stomach starts to growl.
In the first place having healthier school lunches limits health risks. It teaches them how to eat in
Fast food chains tend to always make their prices cheap and try to give the customers more bank for their buck, yet those calories aren’t helping one bit. People would think it’d be healthier to eat at school, though many students don’t like the school food and choose not to eat, therefore being hungry all day, disturbing the ability to pay attention in class. A student is expected to put their 100% in doing their best in school, with that said, if one does not have meals that energize them to keep going, how do teachers expect
Determining the healthiness of food being served to students during school lunches is a very important subject. Although eating healthy is important it should not be the only factor contributing to whether or not taking away students favorite school lunches is beneficial. I don't believe that it is a good idea to take away students favorite school lunches and replacing them with all healthy foods is a good idea because of these three reasons. One, the cost of the healthier food, two, the student environment and mood of the school, and three, the fairness to the students whose only meal is the lunch they receive at school.
Being aware of the health benefits and health hazards that come along with the food we choose to eat is a huge part of starting healthier eating habits. Children spend a multitude of hours in schools every day, and a lot of them eat two of the most important meals of their day in those schools. That is why it is important for parents and school administrators to take school lunches more seriously. Because after all, children are indeed the next generation of adults, and that is a fact that no one can disprove or argue with. And for those who choose to ignore it, in this case, ignorance is not bliss nor is it
Some people may think that students would eat the healthier food because it is the most beneficial thing for you. However, this claim is invalid because people

Eating a healthy school lunch is part of the National School Lunch Program. It increases a child's consumption of six vitamins and minerals. According to a study published in 2003 in the “American Journal of Agricultural Economics.” Researchers found that eating school lunches helped a student’s intake of calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, vitamin B12 and riboflavin, as well as dietary fiber. The food contains less junk and is healthier for kids so they don’t end up having problems later down the road. “School meals are now supposed to contain fewer calories, less fat and salt, more fruit, vegetables, and whole grains.” “with sufficient time and encouragement,
Is having junk food in school really such a bad idea? Does it obtain a value that some schools lack? Junk food was provided in school, before the health program came into place, banning it from schools around the country. It was proudly served and allowed in school, and also sold for many school fundraisers. Although some people might say that junk food can be unhealthy, schools should allow, or serve, some junk food because it will make the kids want to eat school lunches more, it will bring in more money to the school, and it will give the students the calories that they need.
Cafeteria food in schools is made to be healthy for students, but is it really healthy for students if they think it is foul and do not want to eat it? Should schools change the healthy foods to foods that students would actually want to eat? School food’s job is to be healthy and tasty to get the students through their day, but sadly school lunches tend to miss the mark on both accounts. Public schools rely on money from the government to supply food to their students, but due to several cutbacks the thing served in the cafeteria is hardly food at all. We all know the stereotypical school food mystery meat Monday or a slab of grey mush and sadly that is not too far from what it is in reality.
The school cafeteria plans to change our lunch to a more healthier lunch menu and i believe that it is a bad idea. Our school lunches are the most important meal that students get and it would be unfair if students to take away their favorite meals. The school lunch is sometimes the only thing some students get to eat a day. Some Lunches would be left tasteless and unappetizing. I believe that if we change our school lunches that Most students will go without the basic nutrition that we need through out the school day.
Imagine a school that has multiple healthy school food options, that is worth standing in line for. I think that all schools should have a healthy school lunch. It's very important to have nutritious school lunches so that we can be healthy and have energy during the school day. I think we should have better and healthier school menus. Our school menus are very high in cholesterol and saturated fat.
