WASTE MANAGEMENT
What is ‘waste’? Waste can be described as anything from human and animal waste to what we think of as garbage, junk, trash, unwanted, and unused material. Human and animal waste can come off as somewhat uncontrollable, though there are ways to manage this. However, garage and other things we simple throw away can be controlled with the right information, instead of just tossing it into the dumpster. Millions of people all over the globe don’t realize the impact they are causing on the Earth because they simply don’t see it. Trash is carelessly tossed away and left for city waste services to pick up. It is then hauled off to the dump where it lays there emitting 139 million metric tons of greenhouse gasses per year, for an

The answer is recycling. “Benefits of Recycling”, a website devoted to waste management, defines recycling as “the process of making or manufacturing new products from a product that has originally served its purpose”. Recycling can help minimize pollution by reusing items, instead of demanding brand new products. We can reduce the demand for manufactured goods, and the pollution that comes from burning fuel to produce these goods, by conserving the resources we already have. Reusing items can help preserve natural resources. Recycling items like newspaper, books, and wood can have a huge impact on the amount of trees harvested to meet our paper …show more content…
After everything considered, taking the extra time to sort your ‘trash’ can have an incredibly positive impact for the amount of work that is put into it. You can even make a little money recycling! Recycling can reduce the need for raw materials, it uses less energy, preserves natural resources, reduces habitat destruction, reduces greenhouse gas emissions and overall pollution, it can even create jobs in places that aren’t recycling friendly yet. Waste management is an important part of our future. The concept is completely beneficial and requires minimal effort in return for maximum environmental
Animals being effected by trash, such as plastic, ending up in the ocean, the forest, and neighborhood parks are being quickly wiped
To help fix this problem we all need to think about how our actions affect the environment. Recycling helps the environment and there are many other ways to help the environment If we don’t want our earth to turn into a wasteland like Thneed-ville and we are heading that direction but we can still fix it just like Ted did when he planted the Truffula Tree. One thing we could do is recycle. If people recycled the Thneeds then The Once-Ler wouldn’t have had to cut down as many trees.
Nowadays debris is an integral part of humanity life. Mankind thinks about how to make the product easier and cheaper to use, but nobody cares what happens with waste after it was used. We contaminate the environment with every decade increasingly: muddied air and water, global warming are an output of human life. The worst thing is that from such attitude other living beings are dying. Millions of animals and birds cannot withstand such environmental changes; their populations become smaller and, eventually, disappear altogether from the face of the earth.
Imagine living in a world where the air is polluted and most people are afraid to step outside their front door, in the near future, this may be reality for Americans. Americans throw out over 200 million tons of garbage a year, yet recycle not nearly as much. Most people do not realize it but recycling is a vital part of America’s society and if Americans do not perform this action, it will backfire on them. People in America are debating whether Americans are recycling enough and correctly. After analyzing the data, one will definitely agree that Americans need to be more educated on recycling due to the fact that most people do not know what happens after they recycle an item, nearly all Americans are recycling incorrectly, and Am To begin,
Meanwhile, the methods of waste disposal have improved over time. Also, that getting rid of garbage is quickly becoming a big problem due to our methods of waste disposal are only a temporary solution. Moreover; the waste that can’t decompose
This number shows that people only account for 3% of the waste produced. This brings attention to how little of an affect each individual could have if they tried to recycle. Even more, is the waste of water as it is only 10% which is split between people and other municipals. This leaves the other 90% to be used by corporate businesses in the world. Now it comes
That 's 30 percent of the global total. The top countries most responsible for the plastic pollution issue are as following, China, The Philippines, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Egypt, Malaysia, Nigeria, and Bangladesh. What are we gonna do about it? Switch bag materials or don 't even provide bags just make the people bring their own bags and then they can continue to reuse them and then we won 't have the issue of plastic ending up in the ocean. Innocent animals we haven 't even discovered yet are dying because people can 't walk 10 feet to a trash can.
“Food waste is an atrocity that is reducible, if not completely avoidable.” -Stephen Hough a famous composer once said. Food is a precious item many people do not have access to. Yes, you may have a surplus amount of food, but one should think about how much of that food do you waste. That food could go to the poor, unassuming and haggard people in society.
It is useful for nature, since we are making new items from the old items which are of no utilization to us. Recycling starts at home. On the off chance that you are not discarding any of your old item and rather using it for something new, at that point you are recycling. When you consider reusing you should consider the entire thought; reduce, reuse and recycle. We 've been indiscreet so far with the way we 've treated the Earth and it 's an ideal opportunity to change; not only the way we get things done but rather the way we think.
But that still won’t get rid of pollution. Not everyone needs to stop doing any activities that causes pollution. But, everyone needs to at least try to reduce the amount of activities they do that cause pollution. Simple acts from using common transportation to reusing plastic bags are extremely helpful to our environment and future environment. Start acting now before it’s too late.
The world produces more than 300 million tons of paper per year. But remember, books are not the only source of paper consumption. 2. Textbook production by factories can release toxins into the air 3. Many trees are cut down to produce books every year which can lead to water pollution, increasing the temperature and soil
Recycling reduces the rate of pollution, and pollution affects human conditions. As an example, in a landfill, the chemicals that are decomposing are releasing air toxins, harming human's senses. Hydrogen sulfate gases are an example of harmful chemicals, and these gases can cause respiratory problems and irritation in the eyes and nose. When the waste material that could be recycled is burned, that process also releases a whole mass of toxins that people breathe. Finally, recycling helps people in terms of health and
Now we are talking about recycling. So, what actually does recycling means? Turning used materials that are labeled as recyclable over to your local waste facility designated in a disposal container as “recyclable” materials to be taken and reused as material for a new purpose defines recycling . In order to create a new and different product, a recyclable product is turned back into a raw form that can be used. Recycling efforts can significantly reduce additional waste that will not only harm the planet today , but future generations as well.
Industrial and capital hubs in developing countries are similarly characterized by multiple urban sprawls, informal settlements and overcrowding. The local governments or municipalities in many developing countries are highly challenged by mainly poor or weak policy and legislative provisions to regulate and enforce waste management guidelines. They also lack adequate funding and the correct capacity in terms of waste management personnel. All these challenges lead to situations where these local authorities are failing to take effective decisions with regards to solid waste management. It is worth noting that the decisions which municipalities are facing in terms of managing solid waste are not only difficult and capital intensive but they impact greatly on the natural environment as well as on social lives of people, therefore solutions to this issue are a matter of
Introduction People tend to consume a lot, when there is consumption, there is waste – and that waste becomes a big problem that needs taken care of, which costs a lot of time, space and resources. If not managed, in turn, the world that we live in will become a hazardous place for all living things. According to the World Bank, people throughout the world, “spend $2.3 trillion a year on food and beverages alone” (Global Consumption Database, 2018), that is quite a lot. In addition to that, the world count mentions that, “we throw out over 50 tons of household waste every second. A number that will double by 2030”
