The Americans were still fighting for independance over Great Britain. They were preparing and in late May, George Washington and the American Army were expecting an attack from Great Britain. In early June, they began preparing and when they were done. They waited and waited on the attack. On August 27, 1776, the day of war finally came, and the time of misoury began (“American Revolution”).
