The police were shocked to see Andreas five children dead while Andrea acted completely calm and admitted to drowning them one by one in the family bath tub. Andrea had previous mental health issues which she had been hospitalized including suicide attempts. Casey Anthony age thirty-one is found not guilty for killing her two year old daughter. Casey Anthony should have been found guilty because of these three reasons: Anthony’s mother Cindy was the one to call the cops when Caylee went missing instead of Casey, the cops found chloroform on Caylee’s body and in her trunk, and it is known that Casey didn’t want her daughter to begin with. There is enough substantial evidence to prove that Casey Anthony is guilty for the murder of her daughter. Caylee Anthony was born on August 9, 2005 and reported missing on July 15, 2008. Casey told several falsehoods to detectives including that Caylee had been kidnapped by a nanny on June 9th, and that she had been too frightened to alert the authorities.
Casey Anthony was acquitted of her daughter’s death in July 2011 and maintains her innocence to this day. However, she did serve time for providing false information to a law enforcement officer during her daughter’s investigation. According to Mary Bowerman’s March 2017 article, “Casey Anthony Probably Killed Her Daughter, But by Accident, Judge Says,” retired Judge Perry, who presided over the case, believes Casey may have accidentally killed her daughter.

USA TODAY published an article “Casey Anthony breaks her silence: I sleep pretty good at night.” Anthony did an interview with Associated Press speaking about the case and her daughter’s death for the first time. The Associated Press said that the interview with Anthony was “revealing, bizarre and often contradictory, and ultimately raised more question than answers about the case.” In the interview with Associated Press, Anthony admitted to lying to the police about a number of things such as her employment, leaving her child with a babysitter, and receiving a call from Caylee before she went missing. During the trial, the defense stated that Caylee had drown in the pool and then Casey Anthony’s father tried to cover up the accident.
The murder of Caylee Anthony caught the world’s attention as soon as the story hit the news. Today, six years later, the mystery still bewilders the world. Looking behind the most controversial questions and digging deeper into them reveals just how blind the world was to what actually happened to two year old Caylee. The story behind what happened says Caylee’s mom was an avid partier and considered her daughter to be a nuisance and distraction from her desired lifestyle. That led her to murdering her two year old so she could live the life she wanted to live, free from the responsibility of a child.
In the Casey Anthony trial, a controversial piece of evidence had been brought up about whether or not the “smell of death” from the trunk of Casey’s car can be linked to and used as evidence in the death of her daughter, Caylee Anthony. The smell that was in the trunk of Casey’s car could have been used as evidence in the trial. Why? Because it would have proven that, her daughter Caylee decomposed body was in the trunk of the car.
In result, she killed her daughter Kailey. In the beginning of the trial, I found it very interesting that the judge was the one to read to the jury. The opening of the
After a 10 and a half hour meeting, they absolved her on the charge of murder and only found Casey Anthony guilty of perjury. The verdict exasperated American society. America felt pity towards Casey and had no sympathy for her mother. Everyone who listened to the case all over the world was shocked by this verdict of the jury, all of the evidence, the surrounding the murder of the child was indicated only one person, the girl's mother, Casey therefore, this evidence was just enough for the jury to plead a guilty verdict. After this case, many americans believed that the justice system in America failed completely and In this case it was almost impossible to bring forward charges under articles regarding the death penalties It wasn’t optional to produce the first degree murder.
Since the very beginning Casey has not been thrilled of her pregnancy, and with “ Caylee now dead, this has allowed Casey to live a good life, at least for those first 31 days” (Florida V. Casey). Through out the trial this mother was only thinking about herself, according to Attorney Linda Drone from CNN ” No one else benefited from the death of Caylee Marie Anthony”. The jury verdict was upsetting to society because of the mother not being charged with the murder or disappearance of Caylee. The Jury like what was said before only could make a decision on what was being given. There was little to no evidence that was brought to court that was investigated thoroughly to build a case or to charge her with it.
The verdict in this case generated an epidemic of outrage throughout the world. I agree with the not-guilty verdict on the murder one and two charges; however, the evidence is not as incontrovertible as some have suggested. I also agree that there was some mischaracterization around the 31 days; yet, to trivialize this behavior as simply immature is inaccurate. The way Casey handled the death was inexcusable.
Just a few months later on December 11, 2008 Caylee's remains were found in an area of thicket not far from the Anthony home. Casey Anthony was going to be facing the death penalty for the murder of her daughter, Caylee on April 14, 2009. Since there was a lot of attention with this case the jury was picked from a neighboring county by the name of Pinellas, but the trial took place in Orange County where the offense happened. During the trial the jury was confined until the case was completed (Hails, 2013). Not to mention, Casey Anthony was accused by the prosecution of covering Caylee's mouth with duct tape and smothering her to death during opening statements.
In this case the only obstacle the prosecutors had was prove that Caylee Anthony was murdered by her own mother, they had to prove beyond reasonable doubt to the jury that she was behind her daughter’s death. Most of the evidence that was presented was in fact pointed to Casey Anthony as the person who was fully liable for her daughter
