Why are veterans America's heroes? I know some of you think of superman or spider man. But just because they don’t necessarily halve super powers. Although veterans don't halve superpowers they are heroes in ways I will explain in my essay. One way veterans are heroes is because they are loyal because if they weren't loyal they would give away information to the side that we are trying to beat in war or combat.
During the video "The Hero's Adventure", by Joseph Cambell there are a lot of interesting facts and points of views. One statement particularity caught my attention right off the bat. "Sometimes it seems to me that we ought to feel pity for the hero instead of admiration, So many of them have sacrificed their own needs". I mean think about it, most people grow up with Hero's inside Disney movies and pretend to be the Hero's and mimic the glory of it all. Though it isn't really glorious to be a hero is it?
Veterans are those who served in the military and fought in the war. They are someone who supported the country. Without them, United States of America would not be formed. Freedom, liberty, and pursuit of happiness are rights that we have today, but without the veteran these rights will be all gone and America will not be the America that we see today. They are the one who make our dream possible.
There are heroes among us that we don't see. These people show their bravery in acts of greatness whether they are saving people or other things of significant value to others. It is without a doubt that people like these are remembered for their acts of greatness and abiding service. Ways individuals like these are remembered are through people’s writing, or even monuments celebrating their acts of courage. Some heroes being commemorated through books are often written by people who were saved by that hero; furthermore, the individual saved must feel eternally grateful from the hero’s work.
President Ronald Reagan’s speech on the 40th anniversary of D-Day is one to remember. He spoke of the bravery and showed the veterans gratitude for their selflessness to fight. The speech takes place in Normandy, France at the D-Day memorial. These veterans fought to give freedom back to those it was taken from. President Ronald Reagan does make a convincing argument in his remarks of the D-Day address because he not only recognizes the American veterans but also every veteran from the other countries who came to help.
Have you ever thought about people fighting in a war? Not how that war ended up doing, but each individual fighting. Some people are drafted into a war, and forced to fight for the side their put into. But the hero, Nicholas Lopez fought willingly to save the country that he just moved to. My great-grandfather, was a hero because he fought in world war 2, after many other hardships in his life.
What makes a teen activist different from other people? What makes a teen a teen activist? Teen activism is standing up for what you believe in. Malala stated “when the whole world becomes silent even one voice becomes powerful.” Teen activist are like heros.
The National Anthem is something many Americans hold dear to their hearts. When football players started to kneel instead of stand with the others as a protest, Americans started to become angry. Football players should stand for the national anthem for the soldiers, to help unify America, and to find another way to protest. First of all, football players should stand for our soldiers. Our soldiers have fought for our country and they fight for our flag.
"How does it feel to be a true American hero?" "What?" Phillip felt certain the question wasn 't meant for him. He looked around to see if there was a fireman standing behind him. "Oh come on now — don 't be so modest," the reporter, Mitch Field, said.
Heroes are role models and have a great influence on individuals We are living in a diverse and opportunistic society today, heroes have become role models for the specific reason in the way which we think. Consequently, Many people become mad fans of their heroes and they even think heroes are always capable. However, people’s reaction and mind are literally affected by heroes. I am strongly against people who have heroes as their role model, because it is dangerous if people blind worship with heroes.
Why are veterans are considered heroes? I think veterans are considered heroes because they put there life on the line all the time for are freedom. Every time they step out in fight they have a changs of getting shot or killed but they will not stop. They reck there life so we won’t have too.
Heroes in our society are revered and respected as Joseph Campbell reminds us: “A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself” (Joseph Campbell). Heroes exist in all societies and throughout history. Maybe they are not always on the news or from the movies, but their words and their actions never fail to resonate across their feats. A hero gives of himself and dedicates himself to causes which better others and their society unlike individuals who are self serving, greedy, and cruel.
