If school started later, teens would be able to get more sleep, therefore increasing both their concentration and academic performance in classes. A later start gives students a longer attention span and a better morning. Obviously these things would really affect how the student performs. In addition, schools with later start times are likely to have higher attendance rates, according to the National Sleep Foundation. In an interview with many WAIS students, many students tend to sleep anyway during school, so they don’t even bother to show up, having to wake up that
Starting school later can actually improve your learning, health and even your attitude and all of that can be changed by just starting school at 8:30AM. Kids don't start taking in information until 8:30AM because that is when the brain starts to really work. According to National sleep foundation ¨ teenagers are naturally inclined to stay up later and get up later in the morning.¨ ¨Starting school at 8:30 improves a student's chance of success,¨ according to the (National sleep foundation). Not only do teens want to sleep more, but sleeping more actually improves their health. If schools were too just delay school by 30 minutes it would improve the student's health and grades.
We have the energy to stay awake during school. Students need about ten hours of sleep; however, most students, especially teens, only get around seven hours of sleep. If school started later we would be able to sleep in longer which could increase our concentration in class. It will also improve your health if you get the right amount of sleep. Teenagers are in an important stage of their growth, which means that they should get all the sleep they need.
If schools switch to a later start time students will have the chance to get more sleep. Studies have shown that getting more sleep will increase the participation and that could lead to better grades. There are other benefits of starting later including saving money and many other things. Schools should start school at a letter time because of the many benefits it will have like more focus, better emotional behavior, and overall better health. There is and has been a small debate over starting schools later.
Many things that involve a great amount of work will be a little easier to do it and focus on it better when the school day starts later. One thing that could change at school is the students would be less sleepy in the morning. This would help them by not falling asleep in class and not getting yelled by teachers for falling asleep because the will already be rested for the day. It will also most likely help students get better grades which will make the students be able to think more. They will also be more focused in class to get better grades which will also help get more work done in class.
No matter how hard I try I can’t seem to fall asleep. Then suddenly I realize that school starts at 7:30 tomorrow morning and it’s somehow 11:30 p.m. now. I will barely get any sleep and I’ll most likely be late for class. If only school started later in the day then I wouldn’t have to worry getting to school so late. In schools districts, teens should have later school start times because it can affect the way they perform in school and it can also give teens the amount
I agree with starting school a later time in the morning because it will benefit the students by functioning properly in school and it will prevents car accidents. On the other hand, other people disagree with my argument because they argued that kids need to go to bed earlier. My first reason why school should start at a later time, is that kid will perform and function better in school. Having to get up at 6am in the morning to get ready for school can be very stressful. Kids will get up early to go to school and still feel sleepy because they're sleep-deprived and that can affect how they perform in school.
This is also seems like a downside to the teachers as well. Having those six hours before bedtime seems so important to teachers and students but what they don’t realize is they don’t have to give up their afternoons completely. Starting later and ending later does not mean that you go to school all day. Students would get out an hour or two later than normal and would still have plenty of time for after school activities such as homework, sports, or jobs. A two hour time difference in the afternoon would not make as much as a difference in their everyday life as a two hour time difference in the mornings
Even though there are some cons about schools starting later there are more pros for starting schools later. In conclusion, the start time for Middle school and High School should be later than it is now. Schools should start later because not enough sleep can cause permanent damage and not enough sleep can affect school work/grades. Tell your teachers, principals, and other staff about why schools should have later start
Sports and activities at night can make finding time for homework hard for students. The extra time in the morning may give them some room to sleep a bit more or finish some last minute homework. With students getting more sleep, we will see an improvement in their test score and grades, which can help them later in
