Cigarettes should be banned
Cigarettes should be banned because it is a threat to human health and to the environment.
Cigarette or tobacco is a thin cylinder of finely cut tobacco rolled in paper for smoking. Cigarettes contain about 600 ingredients. When they burn, they generate more than 7,000 chemicals. Many of those chemicals are poisonous and at least 69 of them can cause cancer. The harmful effects of cigarette smoking extends from you to the people around you and to the environment. It is inevitable to rule out the fact that though smokers have a right to smoke, cigarettes are harmful to their health resulting to life threatening illnesses not only to them but as well as to the people surrounding them and to the environment.

Cigarettes are highly addictive because it contains nicotine which is a stimulant drug. Addiction is characterized by compulsive drug seeking and abuse, even in the face of negative health consequences. It is well documented that most smokers identify tobacco use as harmful and express a desire to reduce or stop using it, and nearly 35 million of them want to quit each year. The process of growing, curing, and transporting tobacco also requires the use of chemicals and can leach the soil of beneficial minerals and nutrients.
