On the event of 9-11, Malala is telling people there are some misunderstandings in different countries. After the terrorists attack the World Trade Center, fear of Islam rises in western world that they think Muslim countries are supporting this event. However, some religious men in Malala’s society are viewing Bin Laden as a hero that he gives a hard punishment to the US because the US government is doing bad things in other countries. To my surprise, Malala is telling a different opinion than others. She thinks the 9-11 event is terrorism because people in the World Trade Center have nothing to do with the policies of the US government and Muslims are told not to kill innocent people in the Quran.
Throughout this article, President Donald Trump and the Republicans support the ban for the eastern Muslim refugees and non-United States citizens’ multiple visas. The author, Ismail Einashe, influences the reader to believe the ban is cruel and appeals to the readers’ emotions in the article, “For Dual Nationals, Trump’s Muslim Ban Is a Curse”. The statement, “The Trump ban has unfairly targeted people like me”, is a liberal bias because it makes you feel and believe the information before the writer states the evidence or support. Ismail comments that he was also born in Somalia and feels threatened by Trump’s ban. Ismail also includes his own personal bias, so this is another area where the writer has persuaded the reader to believe the
The rising threat of terrorism went ignored by the US government when Osama threatened use of aircraft in an attack against the US (Langley, 69), and because the US wouldn’t acknowledge this, Osama naively believed that america was weak (September 11 attacks, n.p.) and stated that it is a muslim duty to kill americans (Langley, 44), America only makes it worse by trying to kill Osama, making it look like americans really are a threat to Islam (Langley,
Many parts of America are supportive of LGTBQ+ rights, so it is strange to see publications use a Muslim persons sexuality to stigmatize and make them seem like perverts. American’s used that Frontline film as a reflection of the whole Muslim men society, yet we never blame all of Christian’s when a priest sex scandal happens. It is very odd to see how hypocritical American’s and American news outlets can be when dealing with other countries or religions. I wish I could say I was surprised by the way American’s treat Muslim people in comparison to American citizens. This class has really broaden my knowledge and helped me understand how much America is islamophobic.
In the book she talked about how Islamic school was covered with bloody pork chops and pelted with rocks after the 911 incident, but Nada want people to know that her religion don’t mean terrorist but mean patience, harmony and understanding. Most Americans see people from different country we judge them as terrorist or something but that’s not true. The reason I say that because everybody not terrorist and some people might not even come from the same background. How I feel that before people get judge one race or culture we need spend more time getting know that person or culture. The reason I say that because people have they stereotype against black people that we are lazy and all we do is steal, but that’s not true because we hard working people just like everybody else.
ISIS, an extremist group, is persecuting several groups of people as well. I think people need to realize that what they are doing is bad and that it should not be socially accepted to persecute a group of people. If more people are educated about the groups of people being targeted then they will realize that they don’t deserve to be persecuted. 5. I think the heroes of this film are Gerda and all of the many people who helped her.
In the United States came under attack for depriving terrorists of human and constitutional rights. These non-citizens should be protected under international human right laws, however just as in 1942, the united states uses the grounds of protecting national security as justification for their actions. Many Americans agree that terrorist should be tortured for information, as they pose a threat to national security, however this view is not held worldwide. Torture of these captives goes against international humanitarian efforts. " In its treatment of the detainees at Guantanamo, (the United States) has been unwilling to fully apply international humanitarian law ...
Muslims refugees should be allow in America just like anyone else. James also mention his article some reasons why American don’t want to accept Muslims refugee, because the last terrorists attacks that happened in Paris was conducted by refugees .Therefore , Americans thinks that the terrorism may be hiding among those refugees. I understand their fear, we are all terrified, but that shouldn’t keep America from assisting the ones in
The people who are against immigration want it to get rid of it or they want it to be extremely limited in our country. One person who talked about how limiting immigration and stopping people from coming to the United States is a good change for us is David Goldman. In his article “President Trumps Immigration Ban is Magnificently Right” Goldman says that Trumps 90-day travel ban is “callous towards individual Muslims but merciful to American citizens, who have the right to go about their business without fear of mass terrorist attacks.” (Paragraph 3).
Today’s world is rife with problems. With conflict in the Middle East, countries abroad becoming more aggressive, and protest over human rights violations taking place all over the country, America needs a strong leader to get through these times. One such leader would be Eleanor Roosevelt, the United State’s longest-serving and undoubtedly most active First Lady. Beyond her duties as the wife of the president, Eleanor Roosevelt took part in many movements and was one of the most unabashed spokespersons on issues of her time. Taking sometimes controversial stances on matters such as civil rights, welfare, global issues, Eleanor deviated from some of the more common view of her contemporaries; but in spite this, she was still one of the most
kept her daughter interested in reading by buying her books that were interesting to her. Encouraging her daughter to explore early literacy by reading to her every day, going to the library, joining book clubs for children, and giving incentives were the tools she used when her daughter was young My second interview was with Mrs. McCallum. What I learn from interviewing her, was as a parent with elementary age boys, literacy is high priority. When she reads to her children, she says that she reads with enthusiasm, and then asks her sons to recall events, characters and actions that were portrayed in the story that she read with them.
At the moment now, I would say that my current literacy environment is sub par. This is because I am so busy all the time that it is hard to find time to sit down and read. I have school all day, then I go to basketball practice, and then I am too exhausted to read. I read Men’s Health every once in awhile. I try novels out and have read the entire Lord of the Rings series and The Hobbit in the past year.
