Abstract
This research report explores a thorough understanding of how Malaysia Airlines is currently communicating towards its stakeholders following two airline tragedies that affected the company last March and July 2014. The objective of the research is to analyze how Malaysia Airlines communicated and acted towards external stakeholders during and following two fatal accidents that occurred in a five-month span. With the research, we want to find out whether certain actions have been taken into account

Further, the surveys that have been administered to respondents will be analysed and used to answer one of the sub-research questions.
1.4 Delimitations
Due to practical limitations, only a few of MAS’s press releases will be analysed, hence not giving a thorough and comprehensive overview of the strategies applied during the two airline crashes. Additionally, the choice of news articles might also affect the scope and result of the analysis, the choice of the most renowned and read news agencies have been selected, however it is always delicate to “trust” that this given news agency is truthful about facts on the research topic. This will subsequently not be representative of the research as a whole.
2. Theoretical framework
2.1 Crisis communication
In order to answer the central research question, this research paper has recourse to educational books, MAS’s corporate website, scientific articles, press releases published by MAS, news articles found online, and lastly, an outcome analysis of surveys administered to a given
It is now as safe as any airline in today’s world. The reason Korean Air succeeded was because it “acknowledged the importance of its cultural legacy.” Gladwell (2008) Plane crashes are rare, but they are often sad and tragic, we demand explanations for them. Korean Air turned itself around, but how did it manage to do so? This is why Gladwell discusses the importance of cultural legacies when it comes to avoiding tragedy and
As a result of searching the existing literature, the researcher was able to obtain data that correlated exceptionally well with the research topic. Indeed, the researcher gathered pertinent information from secondary sources; however, the primary sources of data were needed to draw a logical conclusion of the research at hand. So, the next step was major section III, Research Methodology. Being
In class this week, we had our presentations of a company’s corporate communication strategy. It was interesting to see how other students tackled the project. Some focused on key aspects of the communication, like how Blaine talked about the management-employee relationship and communication tools. This also reminds us that each company centers their business around different stakeholders which makes their strategies so
When an incident occurs, teachers must gather information from any involved parties. Research includes all forms of investigation. It can include interviews or searches. Once the information is collected it is analyzed. The student is then broth in to discuss the information.
The Western Desert Aborigines or ‘Mardu’ meaning ‘man people’ refer to the linguistic groups whose home territories lie in the areas surrounding Lake Disappointment on the western side of the Gibson Desert and who often use the word mardu as one of their words for people, (map?) These groups are predominantly the Gardujarra, Budijarra, Manyjilyjarra and Giyajarra speakers. The homelands of these groups were virtually abandoned by the late 1960s for settlements on the desert fringe, due to white settlement. In the last two decades, movement back to the homelands has occurred. However, there are no Gurajarra speakers left, few Budijarra or Giyarra, leaving only the predominant languages of the Manyjilyjarra and Gardujarra, albethem low in numbers,
The 911 Conspiracy On the morning of September 9th, 2000, a shocking event, which would be remembered by the world, even 15 years later, occurred. 4 passenger airlines ----specifically, American Airlines Flight 11, United Airlines Flight 175, American Airlines Flight 77 and United Airlines Flight 93---- were hijacked by Al-Qaeda terrorists, and were respectively flown into the North and South towers of the World Trade Center, and the Pentagon in a suicide attack. Fortunately, Flight 93 which was initially planned to crash into Washington, D.C., was overtaken in a brave move by the passengers, and was crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. This is the event which struck the Firefighting and Law Enforcement agencies, with the former receiving 343 casualties, and the latter receiving 72.
With effective communication, firefighters and first responders can carry out rescue operations thoroughly and effectively, as well as helping people search for escape routes and carry out evacuations. This research can apply to several emergency situations, minor or major, as well as any terrorism attack that becomes prevalent, an example being the attacks on the United States in September of 2001. Strong, effective communication overall helps save lives in any emergency situation, despite the severity or opposing
Abstract The accident on McDonnell Douglas DC-9-82, N215AA of 1991 is a good example of an aviation accident that occurred majorly due to human factors. Communication in a crisis is vital. It is often the first aspect of teamwork to go because many team members have different ways of dealing with a crisis. It is important to slow down for a moment and communicate what you are doing so there aren’t any errors. Simply stating what you are doing allows the other teammates to plan for their next steps. Organization is also hard to keep when things change unexpectedly.

2.0 Procedure A few secondary resources were used in the research process. These sources range from newspapers articles, news website (BBC) and online databases which were accessed via the Internet. These sources were chosen based on direct relation to the topic and its scope. Moreover, these sources were referred to gain better understanding about the topic and explore expert opinions and research done in order to fulfil the criteria of each objective
Furthermore, all members: both the main researchers and the co-researchers must be in synergy. Their roles should be delineated and disclosed to all, they should be clear what the aims of the study are, its objectives and how it should be conducted. And they should compromise and be devoted to fulfill their role and the deadlines proposed, given that if one does not comply with what was assigned, other ends up taking up extra responsibilities and this provides an unnecessary burden. Likewise, all data collection methods should be supervised, tested and approved by the main researchers before executing them.

Until today, this incident is still affecting Malaysia Airlines in different aspects. Especially, on their corporate image, reputation and finance. Not only Malaysia Airlines, but the image and reputation of our country are also being affected because Malaysia Airlines have strong bonding with the government and they as a representative role stood out to speak for Malaysia Airlines. Malaysia government had given a very bad impression to others on their crisis management and crisis communications. Experts criticized their crisis management by saying “crisis in managing crisis” and “make a crisis worst” due to their failure in crisis communications.
