If I had a smart month or did not listen to her, my mom would make me write a paper on how I should respect my parents. Eventually I learned that I needed to listen to my parents or I would have to do things I did not enjoy. Negative punishment was rarely used in my house. One time, though, my mother took away my phone because I would not stop whining about wanting to go to my friend’s house. As soon as she took my phone away I completely stop whining and was a little angle again.
For example, many guardians may not feel comfortable introducing firearms to younger children even though at some point in life they will have to know, not to mention it’s all over the news. Another obstacle this innovation will face is actually getting this program in schools. So many schools in the U.S might not want this program due to their budget, just look at how many schools cut the music and fine arts programs. Many people might even think that the G.A.S.P isn’t important or needed, but i ask those people this, “ If your little girl or boy goes to a friends house and see a riffle on the table, will he or she know that it’s not okay to touch it? Will they know how to handle it or the possible dangers of a firearm?
“Since 2013 there has been an average of one school shooting a week in the U.S., and 18 since the beginning of this year. This is a horrific thing that is getting out of control in the U.S. When a gunman killed 20 first graders and six adults with an assault rifle at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012, it rattled Newtown, Conn., and reverberated across the world. Since then, there have been at least 239 school shootings nationwide. In those episodes, 438 people were shot, 138 of whom were killed.it is time we bring awareness to this situation.
In a letter to the families in February, he assured them that additional security checks are not required for passengers younger than 18. He also told them public safety officials were exploring changes to the Secure Air Travel regulations. These changes would help prevent the mix-ups. He has said it could mean adding birth dates, addresses or social security numbers to the information about passengers.
The football team of the high school appeared “to have been ground zero for the scandal.” This resulted in a forfeit of their Friday game and a parental meeting to address these shocking events. These parents talked about the problems that are being exploited to the public and the lies that are being told. It is said that the children will be prosecuted with misdemeanors and the adults could be getting sexual offender charges depending on the photos they have acquired. With that being said, over 100 students could end up with misdemeanors because of their actions.
In 1988, the Deaf President Now protest began. Deaf President Now was a protest about how Gallaudet is a school teaching the deaf so it should have a deaf president. Many people took this event very seriously. Not only the students were a part of the protest, the teachers, staff, and even deaf communities from across the US and as far as Canada got the message from the students. There were so many people at the protest that the school had to close down and even the blocks near the school were filled with people and their personalized poster.
For example the little ones walking home in the dark. This can be solve by calling a parent or another one of your guardian a head a time before school ends so the parents know to come pick up their kids so they are not walking home in the dark, also not having enough time doing your homework. This one I understand but if you are waiting for your parent or your guardian to pick you up from school maybe that will give you enough time to start on your homework or maybe even finish it.
There has been some bad history with guns, (especially in the wrong hands). There was an incident at a school in Newtown, Connecticut, where a boy named “Adam Lanza” went into an elementary school and starting shooting at all the kids and staff at the school. When the first call to 911 was sent out it took police 3 minutes and 21 seconds for the first officers to get there. The gun rights are from
This shows that gun free zones are targeted the most like schools which shows that gun laws don’t work because of the amount of mass shootings in these restricted zones. We have had to many shootings in gun free zones and we have to loosen up restrictions in these zones and increase security in these zones to combat the criminals that do their sick acts of terror. The background to my paper will be talking about the mass shootings to backup my claims I will use 4 examples of mass shootings that happened in gun free zones and 2 happened to be at schools where children study. The first place is a school named Sandy Hook elementary where in Newtown, Connecticut CNN claims “Adam Lanza, 20, guns down 20 children, ages six and seven, and six adults, school staff and faculty, before turning the gun on
The 26 Lives that Changed America On December 14th, 2012 the United States of America broadcasted the third deadliest massacre by one man alone of 26 lives. (Wikipedia) Bullets rang through the halls of Sandy Hook Elementary School that morning, murdering 20 children and 6 adults. Each child had a name, a family, and a future they never got to fulfil. During the aftermath of the Sandy Hook massacre, parents were terrified of the possibility their kid could be next.
In the article “Lift the Cellphone Ban” by David Rapp, the author makes key points about cellphone usage in the classroom. Using Cellphones in the classroom is the new way to teach and reach a younger generation. Sooner rather than later cellphones are going to become a primary source to use in the classroom. Saskatchewan, Canada has begun this trend to use cellphones in the classroom as part of their curriculum. Rather than seeing cellphones as a bad thing, they saw it as a way to keep up with class assignments and test by using their alarms as alerts.
Should schools be able to take away a student's belongings? I got a text from my mom, as I went to read it the teacher took my phone right out of my hands.
