A small group of people around the world believe a peculiar theory: Elvis is not dead (Hanks). According to a poll taken in 1997, four percent of Americans (approximately 13,037,887 people) believe that Elvis is still alive; meanwhile, the majority (ninety-six percent) accept that the King has passed (Chan). This, of course, is only a conspiracy theory (Hemming). This research paper will compare the evidence and try to disprove the conspiracy theory that Elvis Presley is still alive today.
1. How is the purpose of urban legends of today the same as that of folktales that have been passed down for generations?the way that these urban legends can in some ways serve a similar purpose is that it has always keeped people aware of what's around them. The fact that people have scene or even talked about things that may seem unreal, well that idea even to the non believers, would still be aware.
But if the moon landing was a hoax, thousands of people were involved. The conspiracy theorists say that the witnesses must have been disposed of. The people who believe the moon landing really happened say that it is just common sense that so many people couldn 't have been in on such a complex plan, therefore the moon landing had to have happened.
Throughout history there have exist a lot of theories that could explain the weird phenomena that occurs in the waters of The Bermuda Triangle.
My first fact is, NASA found tons of alien activity in space on one of the planets. My reason and evidence is a man named Scott found a UFO flying in the air. So he got is technology equipment and he used it and found alien activity near the UFO. Many people try to find, see, and get proof of alien and UFO activity. Also people try very hard to find proof and when they do they tell other people and sometimes that person tells them that its false information when its actually true.
In 1969, all of America watched as NASA sent the first manned ship into space and to the moon. Hundreds of people gathered around the launch station and thousands watched the live broadcasting on the news. As the countdown reached 0, the rocket with Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldron and Tim Collins flew to space and America gave a sigh of relief. Now it was time to watch as Neil Armstrong took the first steps on the moon to plant the American flag on the moon symbolizing our victory in the notorious “Space Race” with the Soviet Union. It was a great day for America as we won the “Space Race” and got safely to the moon, but not everyone was happy. In this essay, I will be talking about why some conspiracy theorists think that the historical moon landing of 1969 was staged and why I still believe that it was in fact, real.
Hundreds of years ago, people used to believe that the earth was flat, but with the research and technology, we were able to find out that it is a perfect sphere. Aliens run along those same lines. Even with all the technology today, there is still no definite answer if we are alone in this massive universe or not. There is so much controversy weather or not aliens exist.

It takes nine months to get to the red planet. Nine long months in a spaceship without much food, oxygen, water, little living space, and only other people to keep you company. Colonization of Mars is not okay because the planet is deadly, the trip is long, and the atmosphere is frigid.
On July 7, 1947, strange, unidentifiable material was recovered by a rancher outside the city of Roswell, NM. Was it debris from a crashed spaceship or a top-secret military experiment? The debate has waxed and waned for years. In the process, Roswell has become synonymous with all things like UFO and attracts tourists each year. The US government considers the “Roswell Incident " a closed case - saying the debris was from a wrecked high-altitude balloon launched to spy on the Soviets. Subsequent reports of alien bodies are attributed to a combination of bad wartime memories, hoaxes
Do you believe In Unidentified flying objects? Unidentified flying objects or UFOs are suspected to house aliens. I believe that UFOs and aliens are real and should be investigated by scientists. Aliens are the beings that are the ones who fly these UFOs. There are many people that believe in UFO and Aliens because of events that have happened. These events are the Roswell incident, crop circles, the secret surrounding area 51, Stonehenge and the great pyramids.
The hole that was left after American Airlines Flight 77 flew into the Pentagon was much smaller than the actual commercial plane. The plane was 125 feet long, however the hole left behind was 16 feet long, which lead a lot of people to question whether it was in fact the plane that crashed into the pentagon or was it hit by a foreign object and was made to look like a plane.
For many years, people have said that they have seen Unidentified flying objects, otherwise known as UFOs. From random farmers, to the military, to even a president of the United States, Jimmy Carter. There are famous sightings where the investigations have lasted years and months on trying to figure out if the sighting was in fact, true or not. Although there are images of these sightings, they are criticized to be nothing more than a blurred image or the work of Photoshop. The most famous UFO sighting is known as The Crash Near Roswell. This event occurred in the first week of July 1947.
Thousands of people disappear each year within the Bermuda Triangle. Also planes and ships are vanished and missing in this mysterious place. There are several theories that explain how travelers and their transportation went missing. The Bermuda Triangle is an area that has created many disappearances, one of the main theories is because of the weather it is also said that there is the existence of another dimension within this mysterious place. The Bermuda Triangle is located between Florida, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas. (“The Bermuda Triangle”). It is called the Bermuda Triangle because its imaginary area looks like a triangle. (See Figure 1). It is also called the Devil’s Triangle because of all the terror and disappearance this place occasioned. (Nickell).
When Neil Armstrong first touched down on the moon in 1969, millions of people watched him take the first step and create history (Villard). Yet even as we’ve moved on from the moon landings and consider them as a pivotal point for mankind, “Forty years after U.S. astronaut Neil Armstrong became the first human to set foot on the moon, many conspiracy theorists still insist the Apollo 11 moon landing was an elaborate hoax”(Than). The idea that our voyage to the moon was deliberately staged seems to resurface year after year. While the conspiracy theorists claim the moon landing was a hoax, creating a fake moon landing would have been more expensive and difficult than actually reaching the moon.
