Basketball
4th period 3 seconds on the clock, the games tied 24:24. I come dribbling down halfcourt trying to shoot and I get fouled by the other oponent. The buzzer is on and l only have two shots for the foul. I struggle as I try to shoot missing the first shot, the second shot comes as I breathe heavily and I release the ball and hits the backboard. The crowd gets quiet as I shot. The ball goes in and the crowd yells and my team come running to me. That was a winning shot and we took first place. After the game my family and I go eat at Dave and Busters. We all celebrated for my victory. The next day they took me and my teamates Jaylen, Christian,
If we want to win, we need to just go get the rebound, or go dive on the floor for a loose ball. It does not matter how; all that matters is that we need to just go get the ball. It is when the ball is in the air that the game plan goes out the window, and whoever wants the rebound more is going to succeed. This is why I love basketball, because when the game becomes close and it comes down to effort, I know that no one is going to outwork me for the ball. We could have played badly and not gotten any calls from the referees all game, but it doesn’t matter, because if the game is close at the end, one’s internal drive to accomplish what they want could still propel them to achieving
The announcer said who got second place, and everyone on my team started crying. “ The first place team advancing to Florida is the La Porte Slicers!” My team stood up and started screaming. As a result, we made it to Florida! My coach went up to get our trophy and we all took pictures with it.
The referee blows his whistle and I start to lead the ball down the court. I glance over and see a split down the middle of the court, exactly what we needed. I dribble the ball the middle of the paint, right as I see the defenders start to cut me off. I make a sharp cut, turn, and pass the ball right to my shooting guard. He takes the ball in his hand and swiftly goes up and makes the three.
The chilling breeze brushed up against my skin, thankfully drying up some of the sweat that was finding its way into my eyes. My hand still trembling with nervousness, and my stomach churning with nausea. I was approaching the basket and the crowd starts to rise like a Tsunami. As I got really close to the basket I got into my layup position. Taking two swift steps and then just simply serving the ball on to the backboard.
He was talented, The coach subs the man who couldn't defend Andrew and subbed me in. The team passed me the ball I dribbled rapidly to start a fastbreak. Andrew tried steal it from him I span around him and gave my teammate a alley oop. People on the bench started to gaze at me.
The Golden State Warriors have broke the Chicago Bulls for the NBA record of most wins in a single season. The Warriors beat the Memphis Grizzlies 125 to 104 on Wednesday, April 13 in California and broke the record that was set in 1995-96 by the Bulls. The Warriors finished with a record of 73 wins and 9 losses this season and are now playing in the playoffs. Stephen Curry also hit his 400th three-pointer during his last regular season game breaking his old record from last season. Hopefully the Golden State Warriors will continue to play as well as they are so they can become back to back champions.
When I first started playing basketball I was 13.That's when I realized that I could do something. That’s when I realized that I could really use my height. So I signed up for the 7th-grade basketball team, because I am 5 feet 10 inches tall and I believed that I could do something. But it's my first year on an official team and my first time on a real court.
As i got the ball i ran as fast as i could to make the first basket of the game. I drove in with my tough firm face on and scored the point. The points kept going back and forth, i could tell already that this was going to be a close game. The score was 16-18 we were down. There was only two minutes until halftime.
Have you felt anxious to play a game that felt very important to you? ,or having that burning feeling that you want a big win or a great shot this is how I felt before a basketball game. Basketball I woke up on a cold February day at nine-o'clock it came quick I woke up and scrambled into my clothes fast. My dad made me a ewwy gooey egg omelet , delicious I told my dad thank you. My dad said load up so I grabbed my ball bag threw a gatorade in their put on crappy shoes (so my basketball shoes didn't get torn up) we were off to small town Cameron Missouri.
With only 2 minutes left in the game we were only six points behind them. The strategy we had was to continue fouling them so it stopped the clock and gave us a better chance to score a few points. The strategy backfired and left me incredibly injured. I tried to reach for the basketball and pulled at it throwing me on the floor and the other player right on top of me, breaking two of my ribs. Even today I remember the sound of my ribs cracking, it was the sound of a tree branch that was just stepped on.
All the long, hard, and tiring hours of preparation were finally put into play. During the midst of the try-out I couldn’t help but imagining me in one of the Carlisle uniform actually representing someone and doing that while playing the sport that I love. It was 5:15 on the final day and the coaches announced that they would be pulling us out into the hallway to tell us which team we were on; the literal feeling was that my heart was in my throat because it was beating that fast. The coach had finally called my name and my heart skipped a few beats. I kind of dozed off for the first part and the only words that mattered to me were “Congratulations Jacob, you made it on the JV team this year and we are very excited to have you on the team this year” I started getting teary eyed because hearing those words come out of his mouth just meant the world to me!
Basketball was my life. In my first home game of my Sophomore year, on the Varsity team, I was voted the game MVP. But it was during the game, when I jumped up to catch a loose ball, and came down, that I landed wrong and fell on my knee. After the game, my mom drove me straight to the ER, and the doctor told me that my ACL was torn and my MCL was fractured. I went through a very painful surgery, and six months of physical therapy.
As soon as I got the ball, I started to race down the court pounding the ball as I was dribbling. I squared up facing the hoop getting ready to take my shot. I raised my arm up, releasing the ball with my fingertip with poor form and arc. The ball went flying towards the hoop very fast. The sound of the net went swoosh
It was like we were living in one of our best dreams. The parents were like 50,000 fans at the NBA game 7 of the finals in Cleveland vs. Golden State. The other team was upset they lost are we congratulated them and shook hands and told them good jobs which really it was a really intense game the whole way though. We had won the game and made an amazing comeback probably the best comeback in 7th grade is basketball history if you ask me.
In a casual manner, a high school freshman strolled off the brick path into the damp turf directly towards a basketball court located on the other side of the field. Slowly, he passed a brash orange basketball from hand to hand, as he waded gingerly through the wet grass, not eager to get grime on his navy blue shoes. The autumn breeze swept the aroma of petrichor, along with the maroon and gold maple leaves dancing around him, until they pirouetted into the park’s muddy grass. In the distance a glowing ball of yellow light hung, rising slowly from the horizon.
