Both Thomas Paine and Thomas Jefferson like many of the founding fathers of America share a ideology concerning independence and freedom in general. Although the two were notably talented writers, the difference in their arguments was their respective deliveries, writing styles, and their timing. Personally, I agree more with the way Thomas Paine chose to present his point of view. Common sense, for example, was a significant eye-opener for many Americans. One of the only reasons it made such huge impact was because it was written in a style that was easy to understand for the average American.
John Locke believed in life, liberty, and property and Thomas Jefferson believed in life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. You can already see they had both had the same view point , they both believed in democracy, the people had the right to overthrow a government if they feel like if there are abusing their rights since they are supposed to protect the people’s rights, and they both believed all men were created equal. Facts In 1803 President John Adams ran for re-election against Thomas Jefferson. During Adams last few weeks as President he made several federal appointments. One includes William Marbury as justice of the Peace in the District of Columbia. When Thomas Jefferson became president he refused to acknowledge the appointment of Marbury.
In election of 1800 it was John Adams vs Thomas Jefferson for the race to become the second president. The slogan is Are you going to vote for Britain again?. John Adams is a Federalist which is a person that believes that the government should be in control. Britain had monarchy system which is what Adam as it is seems to think is the perfect system because he thinks that the government should be in charge and the people shouldn 't get a say in what is happening. Abigail Adams and Shakespeare were part of two different time periods, they both have different education levels, and have different things they are writing about. This translated to their pieces of literature very different in terms of context and writing style. Abigail, unlike Shakespeare, is writing to her son about her concerns. She emphasizes “that wisdom and penetration are fruits of experience, not the Lessons of retirement and leisure”. She believes that scholarship is significant and talks about it, whereas shakespeare doesn’t.
Political parties, Democratic Republicans and Federalists, started in the U.S. because of differing views of Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson, and the influence of newspapers. Jefferson’s and Hamilton’s different ways of thinking(mostly on issues that was beneficial for the country) played a huge part in the start of political parties. They fought about economy. Jefferson liked farming while Hamilton preferred manufacturing and trade. Interpretation of the Constitution was another thing they fought upon.
In the 1790s, there were two men who had different beliefs regarding how the United States should function. The two men were Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson was the leader of the Republican party and Hamilton was the leader of the Federalist party. For example, Jefferson believed that the government should be self-governed and all of the power should go to the individual states.

Paine had the advantage of being able to see the issues from the outside and from a lower point of society. To be able to understand a bigger group of people is far more of an advancement than to always target the smaller group. Which was the cause of the colonies not wanting to be under rule.

John Adams and his father are traveling abroad together to France during the American Revolutionary War. Abigail Adams is writing to her son to give advice and a sense of patriotism during his voyage. She encourages her son with the hopes of how one day, he can become president. Abigail Adams employs her motherly voice with the use of pathos and historical allusion to help guide her son during his voyage in the hopes he will become a better man.
When the year of 1807 came around, the way that America elected a president changed. In previous elections, only the rich men were able to vote which as a result whoever promised more the wealth was elected for president. When the common man was able to vote in 1807, the type of candidate to win the election change. As seen in the election of 1828 the person who was more relatable to the people, won because the common man was able to vote and so they used that opportunity and elected whoever they thought was going to help them. Overall the people preferred Jackson over Adams because Jackson was able to relate to the people better, and because he was a symbol of the American dream.
When it comes to Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton the main difference between the two was their political party. The basis of each of their political parties set the boundaries for their beliefs and their views as politicians. Both men were founding fathers of our country, and made a huge impact on history as we know it. Without these men, our country's government might not be what it is today. One of the only similarities of Jefferson and Hamilton was their want to diminish national debt.
When comparing Sam Adams, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams, we can see that there are some similarities and differences between the men. Perhaps the most notable relation this group has, is that they were all formal presidents and had some type of power or ownership. The qualities of all four men are often seen as opposed to each other. One similarity for example, with George Washington and Thomas Jefferson was that they were prosperous Virginian plantation owners and held slaves. Jefferson and Adams were both well educated people and knew about the law.
