In computers, backup is storage that is intended as a copy of the storage that is actively in use so that, if the storage medium such as a hard disk fails and data is lost on that medium, it can be recovered from the copy. In an enterprise, because the loss of business data can be catastrophic, it is important that backup storage be provided.

Backup and storage is beneficial to recover our lost data or meanwhile storage is the most important aspect as in todays time even a 1 terra byte inbuilt hard disk get over loaded as a result we need some external storage devices to store our important data.

USB drives or Flash drives

—>USB flash drives are often used for the same purposes for which hard disk drives or CD drives were once used, i.e., for storage, data back-up and transfer of computer files. They are smaller, faster, and are more durable and reliable because they have no moving parts. Advantages
• The user has complete control over access to your files and therefore it is really secure in comparison to an online storage where you don't know where your data is stored and who has access to your data. • The data can be accessed easily and quickly. • The user does not require an internet connection to access the document.

Disadvantages • Have to constantly keep back up of data to prevent loss. • The user is completely responsible for the safety of the data. • It is more difficult to share your data with others e.g. you need to upload on a hosted server and then either send an email or a link to the intended user. • Takes up more storage space if you store
