3.0 THE PRINCIPLE ISLAMIZATION OF KNOWLEDGE

The fundamental prerequisite for effective overall reform of the Ummah is the Islamization of Knowledge. Focusing needs to be placed upon eliminating the gap between thought and action, between idealism and realism and between the ideological leadership on one side and the socio-political leadership on the other.
The Islamization of knowledge also is needed and crucial for removing dualism in the educational system. In Islamizing knowledge there is a number of principles that constitute the essence of Islam must be continuously observed. These principles constitute the framework of Islamic thought and methodology. They are the main matter that guides Islamic mentality, psychological build-up and personality in academic and everyday life. In the past, there is so much manipulation of the Islamic image resulted from the confusion between the precepts of logic and the tenets of the Muslim's personality, mentality, and methodology of acquiring knowledge and living his life. This confusion almost lead the Islamic spirit and kept it from realizing its sacred mission of toil, reform, creativity, and construction on earth.
