The Filipinos are very active online users which is why social media has been one of the most popular avenues for business nowadays. Online shops are the go-to business enterprise that people tend to engage in. The reason behind this, aside from the large market, is probably the feasibility of starting a business because all one has to do is create an account, and he is free to post the photo or details about the product being sold. Internet users will then contact the seller, agree on the sale of the product, and pay online. Examples of where these transactions are made are OLX.ph, Lazada, AyosDito, Zalora, Metro Deal. The presence of businesses online makes it very accessible for the buyers. This makes doing business online so easy, but its easiness also makes it more vulnerable to crimes done online. With respect to crime and consumer protection, it is important to look at the various modes of how these crimes are done with the use of all these technology.
