Goal # 2:
Under decisional category, my role as disturbance handler is one of the most important functions and thus I have decided to improve it from better to best.
1) One value based on this managerial gap.
As a manager, one of my prominent roles is to act as a mediator in disputes. I would make a habit of hearing both sides neutrally and act as a negotiator in resolving disputed issues.
A principle based on this value.
I would improve on my conflict resolutions techniques and skills. I will make sure that both sides feel justified, and the situation is win-win for both. For this, I have to adjust my body language, because my behaviour should make both sides feel validated. After listening to both sides neutrally, I will draw conclusions

I will remember and ensure that resolution is practical and concrete. For this I will need to set ground rules at the beginning of a project, to avoid conflicts in the first place. Which will enable me to manage complex and changing environments.
Third principle based on this value.
I will learn more about conflict management, which will help me limit the negative aspect of conflict and increase positive impact. To perform better, I will learn and keep in mind the values, interests and need of subjects involved so that they don’t interfere with one another.
2) Second value based on this managerial gap.
I will learn to manage the correct balance of emotions in my team by keeping their cultural and religious values and background in

How team member behaves & feel differently when acting alone. It is common that some members may feel upbeat or gloomy one particular day and some may be down, angry or emotionally disturbed so the mix becomes much more complicated. Thus, I have to be very sensitive and aware of all circumstances and situations to handle them better. Which will help me understand group emotions and know beforehand how they would be good or bad for the team performance.
Second principle based on this value.
It is a well-known fact that emotions are contagious and thus as a good manager, I will ensure that my mood as an individual is active and positive, and it gets replicated in my team. Since, cohesive and contagious positive emotions are believed to lead to an increase in cooperation, less conflict and better performance in groups.
Third principle based on this value.
I will understand the nature of my team member’s values, culture, religion, beliefs and differences in languages. Since I have to work in international projects where engineers and technicians from all parts of the world constitute my team. So sensitivity and my cultural intelligence would guide me to adapt my behaviour accordingly. For this, I have to be open and broad minded & my manner should be friendly so that, I can build great relationships with all members and it would help me set the tone of organisation culture as
Second, knowing how to balance positive and negative emotions is very necessary. Pink discusses some researches, in which team behavior
My attitude to team members and students is marked by respect and courtesy, and I am prepared to exchange viewpoint and ideas with all. Moreover, I enjoy sharing resources and gladly
Discernment is generally at loss in the midst of tragedy. The film Ordinary People displays how the Jarrett family copes with the loss of their son, Buck, in a boating accident. Inability to communicate ultimately leads to far more dysfunction than Conrad, Beth, and Calvin can imagine. The misinterpretation of acts of “silence or violence” can be avoided with conflict management techniques.
Additional features of this principle include respect for autonomy and privacy (confidentiality), for all individuals have the right to safety/security and the ability to express themselves. Many of the impacts this principle could have on my consulting project involve contexts in which my consulting team collaborates amongst itself and with NW Noggin. All individuals have the right to their opinions, beliefs, perspectives, ideas, and so forth, so it is only fair every individual receives the same level of respect (which should be mutual). Conversations should be conducted with this principle in mind to give others the space to express themselves without fear of judgment or shame. All of us are worthy of being valued and respected by others, no matter what position someone may be in (e.g., a sales manager should receive the same level of respect as a
As a child of immigrant parents, my formative years in elementary and middle school were shaped by two important factors: the environment in which I lived and my background. My parents worked hard to settle into a new life in a foreign country to provide better opportunities for our family. This meant that we had to be flexible about where we lived due to relocating for jobs, and fluid about our ideas of culture. I recall the daunting nature of moving to a new city, twice, as a child. The prospect of leaving everything that was familiar to me and forming new friendships in an unfamiliar environment was a challenge.
Q 5 – Explain how diversity impacts on practices and experiences on person behaviour, interpersonal relationships, perception and social expectations of others. A – Acknowledge similarities and differences that exist between yourself, co-workers and clients. Culture plays an important part in a person’s behaviour, thoughts and how they relate towards others. An individual's cultural perceptions and expectations will directly impact on the way they work with each client and their co-workers; a failure to recognise cultural differences may cause serious problems when they are dealing with others in the workplace.
By doing so; I will feel more obligated to avoid the influence of zest, self-regulation and perseverance since ownership will make me more responsible toward my self and others to finish what I have already started and will not allow negativity to prevent my persistence. In the process of achieving the shared vision, I am planning to spend more time in team building activities in social events with an effort to create more fun and casual environment to left up my sense of humility and humour characteristics. By doing so I am employing my signature and middle strengths to overcome my lesser strengths limitations.
If the environment that the employees work in is not comfortable, then the work will not be presentable and can adversely affect the corporate brand (Spencer, 1978). Be Authentic The fourth principle is to always be genuine in all interactions. Align words and action to achieve key results (Satterfield, 2014). Being this way during collaboration and evaluations will help the SWOT analysis.
Theoretical Framework: Conflict Perspective: Conflict perspective focuses their attention on society as a whole. Conflict theorists see society as in a continuous sate of conflict between groups and classes. He struggle for power and income is a continuous process but one in which many categories of people appear as opponents-classes, races, nationalities and even the sexes. Society is held together through the power of dominant groups or classes. The shared values, which functionalist see as glue for holding society together, do no realty form rue consensus; instead this is an artificial consensus in which the dominant groups or classes impose their values and rules upon rest of the people.
Response to Conflict Kyriaun Davis, Liyana Karim, Ciyaliz Manoj, Gavin Hua Conflicts can’t be averted; they’re a part of life. There are many different ways to deal with conflict, but many disagree on how to resolve it. Although it is true that every situation is different, some methods may be considered extreme. The best way to respond to conflict is with reasoning and civility, but many disagree by saying that the best response to conflict is force and violence. First of all, reasoning would be one approach to solving conflict.
This report is going to discuss an interpersonal conflict I encountered. In this paper, there is a brief description of the conflict followed by an analysis on the causes and reflections. Conflict description The conflict took place in the school general office when I was submitting a document. When the office called to remind me that a document was needed.
Mediation is a form of alternative dispute resolution in which a neutral third party helps disputants resolve a conflict (Bishop, p. 64). The employee/supervisor mediation was my first experience role-playing as a mediator in a dispute. I enjoyed the experience and recognized how significant the role of a mediator was. There are many strategies/avenues a mediator can take when conducting a mediation and it is imperative that the mediator is able to adapt their mediation strategy in order to satisfy the party’s needs. This in-class role-play gave me the opportunity to apply all the knowledge that I learned during the course, to a real workplace scenario.
Conflict resolution happens often in the workplace that can either drive or disturb employees, supervisors, a team, and an entire organization. When supervisors allow conflict resolution to fester without taking immediate action, it can lead the organization into an unhealthy environment. In this paper, the topic for discussion will analyze various strategies that can be utilized to control and manage conflict resolution in the workplace, and the role of the supervisor during conflict resolution situations. In addition, a discussion will include how the workplace and its customers are impacted by a diverse workforce. Conflict Resolution Conflict in the workplace is inevitable, especially in a diverse workforce where employees possess different approaches to his or her job and come from various backgrounds, who share a common work space within an organization (SHRM, 2015).
With that being said, knowledge is my substantial weakness while skills and attitude are my strengths regarding intercultural competence. Being able to effectively engage with others from different backgrounds and communities relates to skills and attitude that allows me to interact and work with people from different culture. For me, being able to listen, observe, analyze, interpret, respect and think beyond average alleviates me to engage with others from different cultures adequately. But my weakness does with the aspect of cultural self- awareness, sociolinguistic awareness and grasp of global issues and trends. For example, working on group project illustrate one ability to be able to communicate and accommodate beliefs from other
