Andrew Jackson was chosen for president for the smart decisions he made during the war. Andrew Jackson was to be thought to be a great leader for this country. However, some people didn’t think he made the right choices for the country. A person tried to assassinate him but failed and has misfired. Andrew Jackson went against the Supreme Court and did something that wasn’t in his command.
President Jackson did not treat the Indians fairly, the land belonged to the Indians, and the Indians rights were being violated. President Jackson did not treat any of the Indians fairly. Andrew Jackson’s motivation to remove the Cherokee from their homeland originated from an avid persona to benefit the Americans. The speech analyzes Jackson’s motivation, and specific plans to remove the Cherokee. In consideration of the speech being written in 1830, the audience can learn how Jackson was rather harsh towards the natives in order to benefit himself and others. This is evident with Andrew Jackson’s actions and his presumptions of the Natives.
The Whites benefited from it by gaining more land but was also a consequence because the Indians still, hunted and raided on the territory. The reason the Indians didn’t abide by the treaty was the fact that they thought that the land couldn’t be owned. They thought the treaty was nonsense but signed anyway it to get free food. For example Donald trump wants to send everyone back but he needs to go to because he’s russian and his wife isn’t from here either , he doesn’t want to let muslims in because he thinks there all terrorist . Most people that come to the United States come here to better there lifes and to raise money to take care of there families and some people’s rights are taken away . The settlers also called the “white men” believed that the movement of the Indians would bring peace. The settlers also believed that they needed the land more than the native Americans so taking the land was a must do thing. Although there have been many different opinions on the trail of tears the Indians should not have been forced to move out of their homelands. Leading up to the Trail of tears Migration from the original Cherokee Nation began in the early 1800’s. Some Cherokees, that were not comfortable with the whites moving in on their territories, the Indians moved west on their own and settled in other areas of the country.
