Personal Statement

Whatever I experience, at either dark or glorious times, all are invaluable treasures in my life. Each of them may be not so particular, however, all of them combined, which I profoundly appreciate, forms my unique personality.

At age seven, I was compelled to live alone at intervals due to my parents’ unusual work. My father who worked at another province, went back home only once a month, and my mother who worked for diurnal or evening 12 hours three days a week each, just had a day off. Hence, I had to look after myself at most of the time. I totally comprehended that they were struggling for our bright future life, although, I still felt frightened in the empty room in the late of night sometimes. However, I was gradually accustomed to it and mastered some basic living skills such as washing clothes, cooking meals, and cleaning the house. Another affair is that when I understood I may be not as intelligent as the pupils at the top, I made a decision to insist on the preparation, careful listening, timely review, and doing immense exercise for the class content during the complete semester in 2013. Sometimes, I was so tired under this high-intensity study and enormous pressure day by day that the idea to stop flashed across my mind. Fortunately, I felt it was a pity to give up halfway and made it. Ultimately, I ranked 3 from 500 among 1500, the amount of the whole grade. There is one spirit of making up for natural dullness by diligence, which inspires me to be a better self physically and mentally. I still persist in running every day, and gradually realize that perseverance has become a principle which guides me to do everything.
