Declaration:

It is the most commonly used means to analyzing student performances. Students’ grades are vital information needed in advancing to the next semester and its accuracy is very important.

3.0 Background

Kolej Universiti Poly-Tech MARA Kuala Lumpur uses the Microsoft Excel 2007 to compute grades and adding information or records of both students and lecturers. The process entails a lot of effort and by computing and storing of data manually; the process is prone to error especially for the lecturers who handle two or more classes.

Developing a computerized ad online mark distribution report system for Kolej Universiti Poly-Tech MARA Kuala Lumpur would make the task of recording and computing grades easier for the lecturers. This will not only benefit the lecturers but also benefit the students because of the improvement in the accuracy of calculations and in the proficiency and productivity of lecturers.

4.0 Problem

My proposed system has a security feature of which admin and lecturers are the users by using log in form by typing the username and password. In general my proposed system uses PHP Myadmin for my database and php language as the programming language for my developed system.

6.0 Objective

• To create a module that will record the students’ name, grade level and section.
• To create a module that will record the students’ grade for quizzes, assignments, projects and final examinations.
• To create a module that will compute the students’ grade based on input data.
• To create a module that will secure and maintain the integrity of data.

7.0 Scope of the Project

The proposed system is composed of the main modules, namely the registration module where students and lecturers are entered, the subject module, where the lecturers can enters the mark of the student for each grade components, and grade computation module, where the grade of the student is calculated based on the input marks for each grade components.
