Math Analysis For math this year I chose to do 8th grade math on Khan Academy. I had done Khan when I was homeschooling so it was a pretty obvious choice. I did 7th grade math last year so I decided to move up a level like normal and it started really well I was doing great it was really easy but then it got a lot harder. Because it was easy at first when objectives got hard I struggled with learning the objectives and I struggled to master them. Then I found renewed motivation and I found ways to move up and really put a ton of effort and not be afraid to try new things but also to after I finished a topic I would try to find similar objectives and do those and that was super helpful because it always made so much more sense. Also topics
Over the course of the past two semesters I have been studying under Paul Johnston in an effort to better my skills as a recording engineer, mixing engineer and producer. From the beginning, I didn’t have a clear outcome for what I had hoped to accomplish by the end of the course. This was the source of some problems for me because there were some moments where I felt like I was flying blind. Starting down a path with no clear end is difficult after all. I didn’t have a set goal for myself other than learning all I could from Paul, which is a broad goal.
As a middle school student I was always horrible in math. It truly was my worst subject. Lucky enough for me I was able to pass with the lowest scores possible. As I graduated and entered high school, I realized that it was no longer that easy to pass without knowing the material. So because of this I knew I had to study and take time out to really grasp the methods and learn how to use them.
This is a big goal and it feels great when you know you are learning something valuable. In my own experience I have felt the power of learning and what it feels like when I know I am learning something prevalent. Homer said in the book Rocket Boys, “I had discovered that learning something, no matter how complex, was not hard when I had a reason towant to know it.” This is so true because learning is easy when you want to learn it. For example, I have recently become interested in business.
After scoring 10 points over what I needed, then I immediately enrolled in the local Community College. I started out by taking two remedial math classes and one college level English and Psychology 101. I found that I loved school and it turns out that I am amazing at
After chapter eight, my goal was to maintain my better work ethic and that became my most powerful diving force. I don’t think I met my standards, I feel I’ve been lazy and now I don’t have enough time to fully correct that. My goals changed after the eighth book, before I was just trying to get stuff down for a page without actually annotating. I think as a learner I need to figure something out beforehand, but also I need to observe how other people are doing it in order to base my own ethic. I feel like I’m realizing now
As a child I always desired to study math and science. There is just something about solving problems, and finding solutions that catches my attention. Learning about the world, and how it function is very interesting to me. These subjects have help keep me wondering what I could learn next, and the reason being that I am a scholar in my classes. One accomplishment that I am proud of is being on the A&B honor roll.
Not studying, not prepared, and horsing around was the downfall of my eighth grade year. Being able to take the Algebra 1 High School Assessment was a privilege to me when I was ahead of most of the students in middle school. I was egotistical and thought I had the test in the bag, so sure of myself but in reality I needed to prepare myself like every other student taking the test. Since I was in Algebra 1 my eighth grade year, I was able to take the Algebra 1 High School Assessment earlier than most students. But I started the year off all wrong, knowing that I was going to have the opportunity to take the test I should have set a goal to succeed in passing the test with the highest score even though in reality that might not
The subject I have excelled was Algebra 1 during my freshman year in high school. When I first got into the class I knew what the teacher was teaching and I did not struggle in the class while some of my class mates were. Algebra was the easiest class I ever had because I knew all of the topics back from middle school. My middle school teacher helped me understand what Algebra was and how to solve equations and many other things that deals with the subject.
It was difficult getting to where I am currently with trying to understand who I was? And who I am? Why I was going through what I was going through? How to understand and interpret what felt almost alien. It wasn’t until after getting into the University of South Carolina as a Biology major that I knew that that wasn’t what I was meant to be doing.
In 7th grade, I transferred from Bryan Middle school to Visitation Catholic School and there was not enough room in the accelerated math program, which ultimately set me behind. In high school, I found myself bored in math and knew I needed to challenge myself, so I ended up setting up a meeting with the math department head and we discussed my options. Sophomore year, I ended up taking two math classes, which was not easy; double the test, quizzes and lessons! However, by taking two math classes, I was able to get myself into a higher math class which ultimately was my goal, and achieving it was an amazing feeling.
I was unable to fully comprehend the math material being presented online. I had no fight left in me. The state of exhaustion I was feeling had me circling the drain. At this point, I knew I had to let something go, I knew I had to drop Math 14. I needed to focus on my health, my work and my English
Don’t get unsatisfied. Just take it easy. Do it more securely with passion in the next year. Believe me, success will comes to you and give you infinite happiness. Don’t feel like you have to follow all the guidelines, take it as a fun and make it more entertaining.
Math has been one of my favorite subjects and I really liked Algebra this year as well. Although Spanish was the hardest class I have ever took, I learned it is fun to learn new languages. It may sound weird but, running has become something that I like to do and I am trying to start a habit of running everyday. Reading books has become one of my main pastimes this year because of the reading that we did in English.
