Intercollegiate sports discourage education for the athletes, which is often not beneficial to the athletes themselves. Most college athletes have to devote 40-60 hours each week to practice, plus recovering, “working out, and attending team meetings” (“College Football is Ruining Education” S. Almond, newsrepublic.com). This greatly limits the amount of time that they have to study
The players will not come out because they don’t want to be a sissy and want to keep on playing with their teammates. The medical professionals and coaches will not know the player has a concussion until after the game and it might be too late. It does not apply to the players telling them they have to come out even when they don’t get a hard it and still feel dizzy. We cannot know of some of the small concussion that occur each game without the players telling us they have concussion symptoms. A story of this was in 2013, a football player got injured and did not tell anyone of the injury.
“ It’s an easy reason to say no” (Drug Testing, Juneaempire) says Erik Phill. Peer pressure is a huge reason students do drugs, a simple solution is random drug tests. This will cause students to think twice before taking. In middle schools and high schools all around the world, teens feel the pressure of society. The most common pressure is fitting in” or wanting to be cool.¨
So, Many university has mental health clinic. According to the survey, fifteen percent of the students are clearly told that their stress is too large. (Gregg Henriques Ph.D.2014) This can lead to a series of problems, insomnia, alcoholism. The most frightening is -commit Suicide.
Not only that, but lowering the MLDA would majorly decrease the amount of underage drinkers who are hurt from alcohol-related reasons because they are afraid they will get caught or arrested if they go to the hospital. Having the minimum legal drinking age at 21 makes it more likely that teens will binge drink and get hurt, so it should be lowered so that underground drinking will end and more lives will be
“Our review revealed that there is little resesarch to support the effectivness of compulsory attendance laws in acheving these goals (of lowering the droupout rate)” (Schargel). Each day more and more students drop out of high school and there is no reasonable explanation to dropout of high school. Most students drop out because their parents don’t care or the student finds school boring. Other reasons that students want to drop out is because they need to help there family financially or other peronal reasons. What we need to do is get students more focused on school and help them realize how important their education really is.
It is important that current smokers have proper programs designed to help them quit smoking. Banning smoking only helps the people that do not smoke while ignoring the fact that many people are heavily addicted to tobacco. Another way that the plan is successful is because it reduces student exposure to smoking. In a study done by Dr. Amanda Fallin, found that “past 30-day smoking was highest (19%) among students on campuses with designated smoking areas…compared to 10% to 12% on campuses with other policies” (Fallin et al., 1098). With designated smoking areas instead of a smoking ban, the overall number of students that smoke is nearly double that of campuses with smoking or tobacco bans.
The final reason of why I believe that Poe died of rabies is because the idea that alcohol was the cause of his death does not support all the records of his condition days before he died. Though it is true that alcohol does cause many to forget about certain things, such as protecting one 's self from the harsh elements, it does not support the fact that Poe did not enjoy drinking anything while he was being hospitalized. It also cannot explain his severe hallucinations, imaginary friends, and outbursts of histeria and shouting. The idea that he may have had symptoms of rabies seems more plausible than just being really drunk. In conclusion, I believe that Edgar Allen Poe unfortunately died of symptoms of rabies, and not alcohol.
All of the researchers know that "prevention is better than cure". Many teenagers fail in their life because they addicted by a drug. Department of health Malaysia very focuses on this cases. The teenager's above 18 years old participated itself in drug abuse, but they might have death penalty. Their brighter future will become dark.
In the study, “Lack of Sleep Hurts Student Health,” performed by Anne-Sophie Kim, upwards of 80% of the students surveyed felt that homework alone damaged their mental and physical health. As it turns out, these students are correct. In the field of college students surveyed in the study, a majority of the students said that they slept six hours or less on the typical weekday (Kim). Later, Kim states that a major healthcare organization, WebMD, has linked the lack of sleep with serious illnesses in addition to a decrease in cognitive function, among them heart disease,
Dear Editor, it is very important for all human beings to be properly vaccinated. Kids should be vaccinated because their immune systems are at a higher risk of getting sick. Teens should be vaccinated because they’re starting to get into the real world and realizing that there’s things out there that they don’t want to get. Adults should get vaccinated because they don’t want to pass it to their love ones. Kids should be properly vaccinated because they’re so young and they’re easy to get sick.
{http://virus.stanford.edu/uda/} The flu virus is designed to help prevent widespread tragedies such as this. Pharmaceutical companies are powerful and use lots of money to push their drugs, called developments. Most cases, the drugs are not really needed, and all side effects are not proven before they are placed for public usage. Some vaccines are well worth the risk, but that’s not the case with the
The reason for this new law is the recent measles outbreak that occurred in disneyland. Specialists argue that if vaccines were required for everyone to have, the measles outbreak wouldn 't have spread so far. “The overwhelming number of people who have gotten infected, particularly among the children, are children that have not been vaccinated, because parents, for reasons that are really not based on any scientific data, just don’t want their children to be vaccinated,”
Whooping cough is another disease that can be prevented by vaccines. If children do not get vaccinated for whooping cough, then they can easily get it from day cares and other children who aren’t vaccinated. The symptoms can include, severe coughing and a fever. The disease can also spread to older family members who never go the vaccine either, so if the child gets vaccinated it could save the child’s life and also the family’s. We should not let deadly diseases like these come back and destroy children’s and their family 's
While only they are putting their children at great risk with no shots (Hay). Immunizations have prevented 90% of diseases in the world these days are from spreading (CDC). Parents need to see specialized people for any type of misinformed questions that they have on vaccinations. Today, even though people think that vaccinations are required at a certain age in school, as they should be there are exemptions from them (CDC). People do use religious and opinionated excuses to prevent their children from becoming vaccinated.
