After listening to the wisdom of Husky, one can recognize that he offers valuable insights, but also provides some inaccurate information regarding academic affairs in community college. Beginning with the valuable information, he is correct when he states that the cost of community college, in both tuition and price-per-credit, is significantly lower than a four-year institution. He is also partly correct about the curriculum. For students enrolled with the intention of transferring to a four-year institution, general education courses in the liberal arts are offered that will transfer to their desired school. He explains that these liberal arts courses are generally smaller than those offered at larger schools, and provide for more interaction with the instructor – both claims are true.
and i do not like it is a lot different then now we got phoun and stuff now you can just call those people and make it all better. i happy I live now because I love my mom and all my friend i hate my school but i like seeing my best friend at my school. I guess that you not get to pick where you life and what time you are born but i wish who did not get a good life back then or a good home or what if they came back and had it like living two thing that if you have a bad life you could try again would to like.
As I look into my future as a senior in high school, I am looking into an entirely different lifestyle. At this point of my life, I have new friends, new experiences, and I am at the peak of the excitement as a young adult. However, what I do not know is what University I will be attending to come upon this new and exciting part of my life. The two universities that I have chosen to evaluate to prepare for my attendance in the fall of 2016 are Oral Roberts University and Oklahoma Wesleyan University. I applied to both colleges and I have received an acceptance letter from each university.

Drill team girls from all over Texas and even out of state have high hopes of becoming part of the future line of The Kilgore College Rangerettes. Every year the competition gets tougher and the girls hoping for a spot on the prestigious drill team are becoming more competitive and stronger dancers. I was one of these girls who decided to take a chance and endure a week long audition and hope to see my tryout number on the sign in Dodson Auditorium on July 17, 2015. Unfortunately, I was not one of the girls chosen for the 76th line of Rangerettes.
In her article, “Two Years Are Better Than Four,” Liz Addison argues that community colleges are important because they offer the opportunity for self-discovery that so many today long for. It is commonly argued that colleges don’t have any worth because they expect students to have already gained knowledge and experience before attending. In Addison’s opinion, while this may be true for some four-year universities, community colleges don’t have such unrealistic expectations. It was a late, around nine o’clock, on Saturday April 20, 2013 when a few of us from Bear River High School decided to go to Senor Frogs to celebrate Olivia’s birthday. Olivia and I use to be best friends back in elementary school that is until we transferred to high school and she destroyed my reputation over jealousy. I didn’t care much for celebrating her birthday, however, I had been in love with her boyfriend Tyler ever since I laid eyes on him freshman year. Nonetheless, Olivia made sure he never knew who I was.
What we are taught and where we come from, makes up the majority of who we are and helps influence the decisions we perform in everyday society. Proudly, I’m from Kings Mountain, a modest place, as a result of living here it has impacted me in a variety of phenomenal ways, from the way I communicate to the way I act. Due to the fact of living in Kings Mountain, I have been introduced to a variety of opportunities, for example, my current school, Cleveland Early College High School. I have been accepted into outstanding programs that, in turn, has helped me to achieve my objectives and future plans. Although, I attend this tremendous school I tend to envision about how it would have been similar to attending a traditional high school, I was originally suppose to represent Kings Mountain High, but I decided that I wished to pursue something outside of what I considered I could reach.
I am first generation college student. I started Florida Gulf Coast University four years after I migrated from Jamaica along with my Dad, in pursuits of “an opportunity”- something that is very scarce outside of the continental United States. Before coming to FGCU, I went to Miramar High School; I graduated with honors and promised my Dad that within four years I would bring home my bachelors degree in Finance. August 14th, 2013 marked move in day at Florida Gulf Coast University. My first few weeks at Florida Gulf Coast University introduced me to the dreariest days and nights of my life.
Little did I know that I’d be an one semester transfer student. Although the move was during the most important part of the year, my psyche was striving for change and challenges. This situation was survival of the fittest; I had to adapt quickly to Texas and test my boundaries. In Chicago, I was part of FMP ( freshmen Mentor Program) and to get into this program, one must be approachable, Although I was originally outgoing, I had to exceed my pre-determined
All my life I had dreamed of following in my mother 's footsteps and becoming a UConn Huskie. I had watched every UConn sporting event with my parents for as long as I can remember. I 've acquired many autographs of players over the years and even obtained a basketball signed by Jim Calhoun. I remember the devastation I felt when I learned the major I was pursuing was not offered at UConn. I had graduated high school convinced I was going to be an accomplished architect.
My grandfather, mother, and entire family were raised in Bellingham, Washington as was I. I can’t imagine going to any other school than Western Washington University. This past year has been a whirlwind. I had to decide which schools to apply to, take many tests, finish up a senior project, found a new passion, and lost someone close to me. I now realize that the only school I want to go to is Western. A few weeks ago I went to tour a few colleges in Eastern Washington.
Now, I am ready to continue on this scholarly journey by attending Texas Southern University. My interest in Texas Southern comes from my admiration with Historically Black Colleges and Universities, the location of the university and the reputation of Master of
Deciding to attend Texas A&M University was both a hardship and immense, opportunity in my life. Coming from a close knit background, and possessing a very family oriented character, my decision to come to this incredible institution was one out of my comfort zone. If I was to be asked one year ago, If I could ever see myself standing on this marvelous campus, attending one of the top schools in the nation, I would have honestly responded, no. My counselors would have said no, my friends, my college advisor, my family. The answer would not have been yes, not because I wasn 't capable of meeting the standards to attend, but because there seemed more obstacles in my way than there was forces pushing me forward.
For years I have dreamt about getting into my favorite college. The rush I would get as my school’s football team ran out of the tunnel. All the new people I would meet that would become my friends for life. It is now November of my senior year and I have decided to go to Colorado State University.
Choosing a college major is one of the most important decisions in a person’s life. The effect choosing a college major has on one’s life is much like a small ripple in the middle of a vast ocean. In the students senior year it is a simple seemingly inconsequential click of a button on an online application. But by the time this once meek ripple reaches the shore of the students’ life it has already transformed into a great tidal wave that has influenced their life every step of the way.
