Change is something that we all go through. It can be for the better or for worse. Everyone goes through change however my biggest change when I entered high school was my attitude.
When I entered high school many things changed for me, but one thing that affected me the most was my attitude. I never felt fear when I entered high school, but I felt like I changed drastically. My attitude towards band changed. Band was different because of the amount of work that I put in going to the morning practices. The band directors were even tougher which caused me to become a lot more aware and responsible.
My attitude towards my classes changed. During my first semester I cared about my grades more than I did back in middle school. The classes made
The biggest change I had to make was having to sacrifice a lot of time for my career. I have to train everyday to better myself and this causes me to miss spending time with my friends. The largest sacrifice of time that I have to make is in the summer. I spend most of my vacation traveling to different tournaments and camps, and I miss out on a lot of the fun stuff my friends are able to do. Committing has also affected my life because I always have to watch what I do and say because I am represent the Mississippi State Baseball Team.
Joseph Campbell, who studied in ancient mythology, created the theory that every story is based on one cycle. Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey shows all of the stages in a storyline I could and most likely will go through. All things that I could experience will fit into one of the stages. My life as a whole will experience most, if not all of these steps and would repeat different parts multiple times. This is why even one small part of my life could be categorized in Joseph Campbell 's Hero 's Journey.
The transition from middle school to high school is what shaped me the most and this adjustment has changed me in both good and bad ways. As a freshman, I enrolled in a private school, called Bridgemont High School. It was a very small school and did not have the same help as the public schools offered. I didn 't have an ELD class and classes providing extra help were limited. Eld means einglish language development, these classes are classes to help develop your english speaking skills even though i can speak english i had poor grammar.
Not a bad change, but certainly a busy one, though not at first. Much of this came with Drama club, a thing I had had interest in but very little actual experience. This would take over much of my time after school, though much of my time in the program was spent behind curtains or working the house. I was a great student through high school too, taking all honors and AP classes. I was still a great reader and found I had a fantastic memory.
My English grade went up from 1s and 2s. My overall grade went up to a 2.5. Additionally, in my school, we have a class called Crew. It’s one teacher with fifteen kids or less, and she helps us with the grades and communicate with the group so that you became comfortable in the group, and she was my crew leader. Looking back, I realized that if i had started high school with the same mentality that I ended it with, I would be more successful now and have much more options for my future.
So far, my life has been full of change. I was born in, India, and moved around for many of the early years of my life. I went from, Toronto, Dayton, Cincinnati, Wheaton, and finally, Elk Grove Village, in a six-year span of my life. These formative years were great for me because my parents always pushed me to do my best. Academically, I was pushed into performing the best I could such as trying my best in English class even though it was a struggle in the beginning.
Through my contemporary years of being teenager, I struggled with change. More specifically, “change” as in observing it rather than adjusting to it. While change may be a cliché that many other applicants might have written about, it is not a topic, from my perspective at least, to dismiss so easily. Moreover, the challenge I dealt with is crucial to who I am mainly due to the fact that I continue this process to this day. The change I came to know never had a specific time frame; instead, it existed with me since my birth.
In my opinion I haven 't changed that much. I feel that I have become more mature in life in general and in my writing and language. I also think that my personality has changed a little but not very much. I have tried to start helping people more were at the beginning of the year I didn 't help very many people because I didn 't know very many people. I have also improved a lot.
One problem that I have faced personally was that I was a bit of an introvert. It was a significant problem for me considering I was not entirely confident in social situations. This all began to change through events that transpired during my freshman year. My family moved to Bentonville, Arkansas, where I attended Bentonville High School for the majority of ninth grade. In an instant, I had transferred from a school with a class size of 250 students to a school that was six times larger, consisting of 1500 freshmen.
The past three years I have spent at Terry High School have changed me for the better. I am a completely different person today than I was three years ago as a freshman. I have learned so much not only from my teachers here at Terry, but also from the situations I have been through in these past three years. I have changed my priorities, my group of friends, and in my personality from freshman to senior year.
A few years ago, I did not know if I would be able to attend or afford to go to college. Having the opportunity to go to college and being able to better my education is one of the biggest accomplishments of my life so far. Reminiscing on my college adventure currently, I can say that even the little things instilled in me have changed in some sort of way. My college experience so far has altered my mind mentally and emotionally, but I have also grown more independent, self-disciplined, and less stressed. After relying on my parents for so many years, I felt that college could become the outlet for me to begin my journey to the route to independence.
Andy Warhol once said, “They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself”. Change is affected by time and by people in different ways. A negative change can ultimately have a positive outcome. Change is not always bad, but in order for it to be good you need to make it good. Change occurs all the time, and it happens to everyone at one point in his or her life.
Change is a tremendous component of my life. It can expand from a favorite song to a different lifestyle. Not to mention that my positiveness has benefited me through my growth as a human being. It has helped me understand the full picture and feel less stress along with reducing pressure on me. As Willie Nelson stated, “Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you'll start having positive
High school has impacted my life in so many ways. High School taught me so many things, from personal relationships to creating a relationship with my education. As a freshman, I made a huge amount of mistakes and I regret doing foolish things, but I’ve realized, I was only maturing into the young adult I am today. Freshman year, I was out of focus and I was only trying to find myself. I would also prioritize other things and ignore my parent’s advice, where they would tell me to focus in school and give it my full attention.
Being elected Vice President at the end of my freshman year I never thought that I would end up in the position I find myself in today, Class President during my senior year. Although not being in the top position, I started to plan out my year as to what I would do. That tuned out to plan out my year each year after that. I would soon be faced with problems that would be bigger than any other I had solved. Coming from a small school to a energetic inner city school located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles changed who I was.
