On the morning of Super Bowl 49, I was playing on my Xbox One with Ben Jernejcic when he suddenly asked me whether I wanted to go to his house to watch the Super Bowl. It was an opportunity I could not pass up, so our parents arranged at time me to go to his house. Hours later I arrived at his house, waiting for the fun to begin.
Throughout my life I have come from and created a few identities for myself. Perhaps, the most dominant identities that have been apart of my life are being an athlete and being a family orientated man. In this paper I will write about how my identities have shaped my life.
Since I can remember, my mind has been consumed and controlled by one thing and one thing only, football. Football has driven me to not only work hard to achieve my goals, but has made me become a better person, athlete, and teammate. Starting way before kindergarten, I played in a Little Tykes League where I learned the ins and outs of football. From the first game in LTL, I dreamt of playing college football and I was going to do whatever it took to achieve that goal. Although of course the game wasn’t as intricate at that age and the pads weren’t as heavy, I knew I was apart of something greater and I wanted to never quit doing it. I did everything I could to improve my skills, I started watching NFL and college football with my dad and
Adrenaline pulsing through my body and anxiety filling up in my stomach, I quickly throw on my football gear and head out to the practice field. It’s a nice hot day in Ocala, Florida, with the sun beating down on our necks, we stand side by side in line waiting to be picked to play second, third, or fourth string in a play. Waiting in anticipation, each of us grinding our teeth, watching first string pure athletes colliding against each other like gladiators to have possession of a ball made at one-time of “pig’s skin”. To some people, the game of American football makes no sense, whether it’s the idea of trying to protect a ball or running and passing it to make a goal for your team. People like this, see the concept of football and understand why millions of people love it; but to them the sport is pointless and causes way too many casualties. Coming from the most us who love the sport, it’s not the worry of getting hurt that you mainly
My teammates and I finally reached the Atlanta stadium, the head coach told us all the formations, plays, strategies, and who will be starting. When I heard "Eric Marshall will be one of the primary and starting receivers," I almost jumped in joy, because it had been a dream to play in the super bowl. As we walked into the stadium to practice, I could hear fans screaming, many of which were cheering for us. I felt as if we could not lose or we would let many, many people down. While Marcus and I were doing some practice plays, I felt great When our rivals, the Patriots came in, they looked as if they have been training for this moment for their lives. They did many drills and each of them either looked perfect or the closest to perfect.
I can not remember a year where I was as excited for the Vikings season and then this goes and happens. Twenty minutes into practice on Tuesday Teddy Bridgewater took a snap from under center and as he was dropping back to pass he screamed in agony and went down. He suffered some sort of non contact knee injury. Everybody in the building could tell how serious the injury was by the reaction of the players, some cursed, some threw helmets, and some even prayed.
When I was 7 years old I went to my first high school game with my mom, the teams that played were Roosevelt and Flower. I will never forget that day Sept 8th at 8PM friday night lights. My older cousin Brett Pierce was the starting Cornerback for flowers, I admired him because he the starting Corner and he was ranked #23 in the Nation for his position. My cousin ended the game with 18 tackles, 4 interceptions, and 3 forced fumbles that was one of the greatest days of my life. After the game was over I asked my mom could she sign me up to play football, she told me I wasn’t big enough. My mother is very over protective of me since I am her only son.
I went to Jay Peak as my second time. I remember about my first time I went there when I was in Middle school. Also it was my first year in United State. I was a quiet student in Middle school so I don’t talk the whole time I was on the bus even when I get there. But yesterday I talked to people who were from different program. When we arrived at Jay Peak we have to get card and some other things. Then we went inside I can smell the water from Jay Peak. I saw a lot of people and life guard at the Jay Peak. We all went stright to change then we all disappear from there. Everyone picked what they want to do. Me and Roze tired the Blue and Green slides. After we went to rock climbing wall after I get off from that then I went hot tub and I set
It was the last inning in our all-star game, and we were losing 10 to 8. Our team had 2 outs and we couldn’t get the third. Our pitcher was doing bad, throwing all balls, while all of us in the field were tired, ready to fall asleep at any moment. There goes another walk. They score again. Great! I was thinking. At this point in the game I thought for sure that I would die right there in center field. However, baseball is baseball and things can change rather rapidly.

Going up a sports fan in St. Louis was hard at times. While we have the opportunity cheer on three separate teams with the Cardinals, Rams, and Blues. Over the years I fell more in love with the Rams football team. This love came from going to all the home games with my father and grandfather, even when they were away the three of us would still go out to lunch to watch the game together. While this opportunity I had through the Rams created a great boding opportunity for not only my father and I but as well as with my grandfather. After hearing the news that the team was leaving, I became devastated with the owner and the team in general. Then my business education showed me why the owner wanted to move the team, and it finally made sense to me.
The day had finally come. The day that I could so everyone what I can do. But if I mess up then hundreds of people would see. Then we arrived at the football field, as I stepped off of the bus, my body filled with excitement to finally be one of the stiles cheerleaders. My friends and I ran onto the field and looked up to see the huge stadium. The rows went on and on. I could tell that some other cheerleaders were nervous too.
The pressure boils as I have 30 minutes to pick my lovers, my family, my oxygen.
“Let 's go Ari, you got this!” Coach Chop -- head coach of Florida Flash (baseball team) -- yelled as Ari -- full name is Ari Soles -- stared down the pitcher. “Ping,” the bat screamed as the ball went soaring into left-center field. Everyone in the crowd and the dugout -- team 's bench area and is located in foul territory between home plate and either first or third base -- screamed to congratulate Ari. Although Ari never believes in himself, so he ran towards first base with an “that was just luck” look on his face. Even though he didn’t look that happy, the crowd still tried to encourage him.
