Personal Narrative: Why I Coach Youth Baseball

When I reflect upon responsibility, there is one ideology that comes to mind: “Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required” (Luke 12:48). This verse is monumental to me because I have been given so much. I am a leader in the community, a starter in three sports, and a big brother. This has given me the responsibility, as well as the opportunity, to positively impact many lives. Children are very impressionable, and I find it extremely important that the impression I leave on the children who look up to me is one of hard work, never giving up, and endless positivity. It is one thing to simply lead by example, but it is another to go beyond that and truly embrace the power you've been given. That is why I coach youth baseball,
