Sociological Concept of Culture In general, Sociology is a scientific study that involves the human social behaviour which is shaped by the society, whereby it is a system of interrelations which connects individuals together to create a unique culture (Denny and Earle, 2009). Therefore, without culture and society, a closed connection between these notions could not be formed, due to the absence of structured social relationships (Sewell Jr, 2005). According to Macionis and Plummer (2012), sociology is the combination of Greek and Latin that was defined as the study of society, who were developed by the French philosopher who is also known as the founder of sociology, Auguste Comte (1798-1857).
Kristen Lovejoy and Gregory D. Saxton are both professors of Communication at the University at Buffalo, SUNY. They analyzed the 100 largest nonprofit organizations in the United States and their use or interaction with microblogging platforms like Twitter. They determined that utilizing Twitter provides three functions for organizations of this kind: information sharing, community building, and calling individuals to action. They found that non-profit organizations are better at achieving their objectives using these platforms than they were when using traditional websites. This is because social media allows for more open communication which can increase community, participation, and action.
Culture and Society The culture that I am identifying is Rwandan culture as I am Rwandan. The main things that makes me part of this culture is that I speak Kinyarwanda, and this help me to interact with people from my culture. According to Knoji (2015), language is taken as one main component of every culture. Another thing that makes me part of this culture is that I believe that a girl should not sit down while a family house is not well cleaned. In Rwandan culture it is known that a girl should not wait for her brothers to clear the house.

Therefore, people should recognize the problems on SNS and find the solution.
I took a step back for this assignment of identifying my culture to assess my life as an outsider I found many cultural aspects apply but I’ll touch on just a few. Most of my social norms, values and traditions are pretty typical for my background. I have genealogy tracing back all over Europe and my parents were raised in Nebraska and Ohio. So, as you can imagine their small town social norms, values and traditions followed them into the big city while they raised two daughters. My sister and I grew up with a lutheran mother and a previously catholic father.
In as much as technology has made life easy, it has also contributed to loosening the bond in communities down to the last unit which is the family. Social media, one of its inventions, has made it possible for one to chat no matter where he is. For example, in the family, Titi can be in her room and rather than have a face to face interaction with her brother who is in the next room, they chat via whatsapp. The same occurs in friendship. The bond is gradually loosened because of the absence of that face to face relation.
